I hate pone - is that these people can't spell pony or do they mean pone to rhyme with bone???? Either way stop it - urgh!
Poppymoo, the YO at the riding school I went to as a teenager used to refer to the three smallest ponies used for the really young children (one shetland and two section As) collectively as "the little po pos" as in, can you go and groom and tack up the little po pos.......... hmmmmmm
I ocassionally use neddy, someone else I know uses gee gee. Doesn't really bother me that much, I have loads of nicknames for my neddy (
), it's just natural to me to use silly names, yet my OH wishes I would call him darling or some sort of pet name and it just doesn't come naturally with people (I'm a horse person not a people person)
Thankfully I don't own either a ponio or a coblet so don't fall victim to that one but I do have ned...I use that word when talking on forums, to me I guess it just sounds a tad more friendlier when talking amongst horsey folk, than saying 'my horse' but I wouldn't say it when speaking to non horsey people, I'd refer to my horse as my horse....that's my excuse anyway
