Went to put this in Latest News then Soapbox then thought here best? Oh whatever don't know where's the right place but here goes!!
Just read a post about LPG in New Lounge anyway this is how I feel, I would love to get a 4WD and convert it to LPG, would love to tow my horse and go to local events, great for emergencies too but what's the point?? If anyone can give me a good reason then do!!.....

Oh don't get me going on this one, Bloody government want us to use our cars less as we are polluting the planet but when you want to convert your car to LPG, which is less polluting so I would assume that is what they want, what do they do but make it so difficult and try to extract the same amount tax as for people running on petrol!!
Where's the incentive to do anything about the planet when all they do is tax us more and more if they don't put it on the LPG, and I have heard that that is going to go up too, then they put it on the road fund licence and then the insurance companies want more money because you have 'modified' your vehicle, how much more money can we shell out? why should you have to pay more because you are 'trying' to save the environment??!!
I live in a semi rural area, not far from London in fact, but I don't have a bus route to take my kids to school, there's no bus or train I can catch to work as I work in different places each week. There just isn't the public transport available. It's like a village with 1 shop and a pub and that's it and even though I am about 25 miles from the centre of London I may as well be in the Highlands of Scotland as far as the facilities are concerned and public transport, there's a bus that goes down the road about every 2 hours, so how am I supposed to get the kids to school and me to work by 9am? And what about people who live in very rural areas and need vehicles for their lively hood? It's all just P*SSing me off no end.
Unfortunately the powers that be and the greenies just look at people who live in cities and have access to public transport. Why don't they try living in a rural area and get the kids to school, get their shopping, go to work, etc, etc, etc? All without a car and using public transport. Unfortunately gone are the days when we all lived in the same village, town that we were brought up in, work in, kids go to school in etc. These days you have to go where the work is, in most cases, and that unfortunately means making a journey and often in a car.
I could have done with a 4WD today with the amount of roads that are flooded around here and the state of the road surfaces with all the pot holes that seem to materialise on a daily basis, would the government like to sponsor me for one as the Cr*p state of the roads round here that are ruining my suspension on my regular car?
Oh by the way there's an advert on TV at the moment for a hybrid car great you'd think? only if you have £35K spare! Now that would buy a lot of petrol for my MINI!!!!!!!
