He really is progressing so well, I'm almost tempted to get back on him to see how he feels, despite the resulting agony I'd be in.
Thursday evenings are not his favourite, being schooled from the field just as it is dinner time, usually results in a distracted and argumentative pony; despite this he did eventually settle and work well, showing much improved strength for both extension and collection in trot.
Collected trot, using tiny little LY zig-zags to get him really using his HQ, then asking for some baby piaffe along the wall for support. He's not strong enough to do full piaffe, but to be able to collect the trot to just that point, with good hip flexion is a great thing to see... I was so enthralled I forgot to take any photos (though I'm so naff I'd be taking them at the wrong place anyway...)
After the collection comes the extension. Again working slowly up, neck open and out to encourage forward, shoulder in to start and then ask for the extension. The photo isn't taken from a brilliant point in time, but I'm pleased I managed to get something!
