recommend any diets ladies?

I've just started the slimming world diet - currently on day two.

Would like to get back down to 10 stone as I've put a stone of weight on since joining the gym and I'm not happy using the "muscle is heavier than fat" excuse.

Struggling to change my mindset as I've always had relatively stable weight - never fluctuated from 10 stone no matter what I ate but that seems to have changed.

I miss biscuits already!! :(

Eating as near 1500 calories, preferably less, every day! As much fruit, veg, salads, mediterranean veggie food as poss, with some dairy and pints of hot strong tea! Lots of walking and riding, and doing an active, stressy job 50+ hours a week!
5'9"" and 8st 7lbs or under, for last 4 years.

I love that I am reading this whilst eating Halloween chocolate (we had no trick or treaters, I blame their lack of effort).

Also why is there not an 'all carb' diet, carbs are my favourite!

I've lost weight without even meaning to (8st 5lbs and 5' 4", so not needing/expecting to). I changed my diet because I always felt so awful, no energy etc. Had some help from a friend who's into nutrition (a bit alternative) but basically overnight I gave up complex carbs and quite a bit of plain sugar, and caffeine - so no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, tea, coffee. Will admit to still having cereal for breakfast... Anyway, my energy levels have bounced up (getting up at 6 no longer a struggle) and I have lost weight (about 3lbs in ten days, not weighed self for a bit - only get to when I borrow my mate's scales to weigh the cat...) and am changing shape - losing the stubborn saddlebag fat I never thought would go. I still eat loads - well, I'm not hungry, anyway. Lots of meat, fish, eggs, veg, homemade smoothies, soups, nuts and berries, herbal teas and loads of water. And large glass of wine per night! :D Don't miss the carbs at all, to my surprise. Only problem is the cost - carbs are cheap :(

Agree with this (although I am veggie, so obviously without the meat or fish). I followed a low GI diet when I was pregnant as I had a slight glucose intolerance (they didn't actually call it gestational diabetes), the metabolic specialist REALLY wanted to put me on metformin and I REALLY didn't want to take it. I took the paediatrician's advice and controlled it with diet. Metabolic lady was really disappointed every time I took my blood sugar diary in and it was fine and the paediatrician announced there was "no problem here". When I came home from hospital with my daughter I weighed 8st10, sadly that is no longer the case, sitting on the sofa eating biscuits for 2 years do bad things to a girl! However I have got a horse on part loan, joined the gym and am going to give that low GI diet a go again (although it's harder now I no longer have the incentive of the bump and the blood test after every meal!).
