Must have a full neck.

Any suggestions gratefully recieved

350g, JHL Heavyweight Combo.
Couldn't recommened this highly enough.
It seems abit thicker than 350g to me, but very very good, hasn't leaked once, and the fit is perfect, deep tail flap, not a "baggy" neck if you know what i mean.
And the price is unbeatable.
Surrey Equestrian do the best price i found for it,

I like good old Weatherbeeta to be honest - Orkan is snug as a bug in his HW combo and it never leaks. You can pick them up for about £60 on equestrian clearance so reasonable too.

Just got a Derby House HW T/O in the sale - hope its as good as the Weatherbeeta!

Premier Equine HW is brilliant

I find these get really really heavy when wet. their heavy at the best of times!!

Totally agree!

Another vote for Weatherbeeta, though it does depend on the shape of your horse. I moved over to Horseware a few years ago and have now moved back as WB are broader across the shoulders for all mine. And good value for money!

Any horsewear rug. Depending on your budget, you can go for either the amigo, rhino, or rambo. They have a rug for every budget, and even the cheaper amigos are better than many more expensive makes IMO.

I tested them all on her horses before they went on sale and i really like them they fit all types and sizes of horses. A few people have said they rub the manes however one of her horses lost his mane with every rug he had on and the above rug never rubbed him. As i said i dont work for her any more and left on bad terms but i do really like these rugs. The red lightweights and fleeces are good too.

I've just ordered one of these rugs, following a recommendation from another HHO member who has used them herself.

Currently at a rock bottom sale price too

There is just something about these rugs that looks odd to me. I think it is the funny points on the neck rug. Also, if you look at the pictures, it shows how the neck rug is attached with a zip, and the pic clearly shows that the stitiching is a bit rubbish. I think it also gapes a bit in the pic where the horse is grazing.

I like Rambos, Fals, Mark Todd and WB in general. I normally look for rugs with a high denier as one of mine likes to trash his own rugs, then get hold of his brother's.

Thanks Dingle. Must admit, I'm looking forward to it arriving. And hope it's as good as rug as I've been told.

All rugs take my horses mane out - so something I have to live with......

For me it has to be Mark Todd rugs

Ditto, Cappy wore his a lot last winter and after it had been washed and reproofed, it looks as good as new. It is a great fit, very water proof and is a lovely fit for him. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Which funny bit on the neck ?? all the stiching is doubled up the first batch was only single stich so they got sent back and re done for the price now you cannot go wrong a really would give them a go. As i said i dont get on with the owner now but i really like the rugs.

LOL, even my very expensive Rambo rugs gape. And after sticking the latest Duo in the bin, I'm actively looking for alternatives.

The points on the neck are just an extension of the neck cover - to ensure minimum gaping. The denier outer is the highest I've seen on the market.

But will let you know about the stitching and the rug generally once it's been beaten up a bit by my rug thug.

If you click on view other pics, it is pic 7. You can see the tension is all wrong on the machine which is why the thread has broken.

I dont like the neck attachment - currently I am using PE turnouts and I really like the way the neck attachment goes right up and has elastic around the top so they dont gape at all when their heads are down grazing.

Yes PE rugs are pretty good. The boy is currently in a HW stable rug and out in a MW TO rug. They are just terribly heavy. Especially the TO when it get's wet.
