I am looking for a black dressage girth ideally not leather, must have keepers both sides of buckles and be fairly thin width because of horse's elbow line. Also be elasticated both ends.

Can anyone suggest any that have worked well for them? There are so many and its always nice to go by recommendation!

many thanks

i have the long thorowgood girth and love it - thnking of getting the dressage one for day to day - i actually use a jeffries one with elastic inthe middle at the mo and love that

I have a tack room full of girth purchases that I've not been happy with (must put them on ebay). The one I've finally settled on which I really like is a wintec elastic pro - It has the elastic concealed in the middle, and looks really smart too.

My saddler recently had a thorowgood one with her - and it was exactly as you described and I would have bought it off her there and then - however new loan horsie doesn't fit in to my dressage saddle at the moment - so when his shape changes from all the work he's doing, I may have another look. But with thorowgood it comes in brown or black, this one had elastic both ends and wasn't a huge wide one. I think it may have been "shaped" as well, but I'm not sure. Don't think they are terribly dear, either - and synthetic material so easy to clean.

I used a Thorowgood one on my mare, too. And the one before that. Cheap, easy to look after, does the job, fits the description!

Another vote for Thorowgood - I love them.

Otherwise, if you want a narrower one than that, then I found my mare liked the cottage craft ones too - and you can get them with elastic in.
