Hello, im looking for some opinions/advice!
After a short weekend away, i came back to find my pony had laminitis in all four feet!
There had been no change in her diet and she got fed accordinly to what was asked of her and because of her breed/weight she already had a limited amount of sugar in her diet.
She spends at lot of time out, in good weather, all day/night, as the grazing at my yard isnt very good, there were no concerns of her developing laminitis from that.
Together with the vet we came to the conclusion that she had concussion laminitis which made sense when i found out exately what my sharer had been doing with her. She had basically been working her too hard, for too long on hard ground and thanks to my ex farriers advise 'she didnt need back shoes'!
She is coming to the end of 3 weeks of box rest where ive gradually halfed the amount of bute and taken her off acp tablets and have seen a tremendous improvement.
Can anyone advise, now her feet are sound, if she can now be turned out gradually or if i have keep her in for a few days where shes completly off the bute to let it get out of her system?
Shes had no bute today and was hoping to turn her out for a couple of hours tomorrow?
