Reputable dealers?

They bring a lot of the horses over from Ireland, so tend to be mostly cob/sport horse types. I have heard that some are very green, which is fine if you are happy to take on a project. I don't think that flatwork is their speciality, so if you're looking for something to progress in dressage, they're probably not for you but if you want something to go hunting or jumping, then they might have something suitable.

I think the guy that runs Probus is called Luke Comley.

Thanks. I'm after an all rounder but would rather put work into flat work than jumping - I have more confidence in my ability to improve something on the flat than over a fence - so they might be ok. If they do have anything worth a look, I'll be taking someone very experienced and a much better rider than me with me!

Annie Warren, she's top end of Cornwall. I haven't met anyone down here who doesn't speak highly of her!! Her business fb page got taken down yesterday but message her on instagram Annie Warren equestrian Services I think), or message her personal fb. She always has some lovely horses in.

ETA heard mixed reviews on Luke Comley

Each to their own and your experience was some time ago. I've had two from her in the last year and they were exactly as described and I can't fault either the horses or the service I received from Abbie. She couldn't have been more honest about both of them.

Happy to agree to disagree on this one. Personally I couldn't excuse the condition he was in no matter how long ago it was, but glad to hear she's stepped up the care of the horses she's selling.

They grey mare? Looks lovely but I have to have a gelding as he'll be joining my old boy on a geldings only yard. I can't move him at 23 and can't have two on different yards as i work full time and it's going to be hard enough as it is!

Fiona Wingrove, Lydia Lucas, Kim Barzleiy (SP) and I like a lot of Blake Mcluskers horses but a lot of people don't.

there are a couple on horsequest which may suit...210035 & 211527 not sure but i think you wanted over 16 hands and not tb. i may be getting you mixed up so feel free to ignore

Thanks - you're right, that's exactly what I wanted. I've already enquired about the chestnut. When I asked for photos of his feet they went very quiet on me. The spotty looks very sweet but after 14 years of grey ownership I've decided I'm not suited to a predominently white one. I'm the bad combination of caring how clean he is but being too lazy to keep on top it on a daily basis so end up scrubbing in a panic before an event and hating every second of it!

I bought a cob from Emily Chambers last year, and I would highly recommend her. The horse was exactly as described, no hard sell and a returns policy if the horse doesn’t suit you. He’s turning out to be my horse of a lifetime, I’d definitely buy from her again.

Thanks, that backs up what I've heard elsewhere so very useful.

HM sports horses in Shropshire have some nice ones and I can recommend from personal experience.
It's also worth looking at SmithsFarm Horses, Eccleshall, Near Stafford. They are very genuine but unfortunatley don't have that many as they put a lot of time into producing them.

Agree with Smith's farm horses.

I cant help with the ones you have mentioned but last year when i went looking i ran in to a few dodgy people but 2 lovely dealers who i would recommend, pm me if you want to know who as i am not sure if we are aloud to post here.

one was stock on Trent area and the other was north west so not ideal for you, but still closer then me! (took 4 hour ferry ride for me to see them)
