I think they heard you. There's a GFM page asking £32k to fund their breeding programme, which talks about how they will bring their home bred foals into their trekking centre. They mention Bella who is one of the foals listed for sale in last week's Facebook post.

They are asking for strong prices for the two foals, particularly the AA foal. From the pictures i was concerned about the conformation of the front legs (long sloping patterns??? - I'm not good at seeing good vs bad)

I personally think she's becoming manipulative to the idiots that are thinking she's some sort of rescue.

Don't breed for a year get your finances strong again would seem a sensible answer.

But no she's basically wanting people to pay for her to breed and keep her over priced treks going ..

I'm really annoyed that she's using the #saveoursuffolks tag which has been linked to the Suffolk Horse Society for years.

I'm not sure she's really leading the way in breeding for the future.

I saw a suffolk foal with terrible front legs so its not just you. Im going to go and have a nosey now see if I can find it again for a proper look!
 
I think they just have too many horses, they say in another post they have a big group of next generation horses for next year, so how many are they keeping that aren’t bringing any money into the ‘business’

Er, yes, I think that the vast majority of us are experiencing these same issues. And many of us are working hard to fund our horses - which we keep by choice - without expecting strangers to prop us up.

And while it's none of my business if people choose to throw their cash at this "cause", it does irritate me that genuine equine charities are in dire straits.

Also, can anyone enlighten me re. the cost of setting up a breeding programme (£32k), especially if they are already breeding? I can imagine that vets' fees, care of mares & foals etc is expensive, but this sounds like a lot of money to 'set up' a programme.

They're selling at least one, a 12 year old Clydie for £13k. Sounds like quite a lot to me but I'm prepared to admit I'm wrong, I don't know a great deal about the going rate for these horses.
Also selling two foals for what seems like quite a lot. IIRC the main reason they went to the now infamous auction earlier this year is because there were a couple of Suffolk fillies that they hoped would go for a reasonable price...ended up going for more than they were prepared to pay, but I think it was still a lot less that the sale price of their own foals.

It's extraordinary that they are able to raise so much money, but I can see that they are laying the cuteness stuff very heavily indeed, including 'foal cuddling'.

If they became a charity they'd be able to claim Gift Aid on donations. I don't know why they don't do this tbh.
 
£13k for a good ridden Clyde is about right but is this a 'good' ridden Clydesdale? If it is, why aren't they keeping it for the centre. I suspect it isnt suitable and there's something they aren't saying. Poor horse has only been with them a year.

As for the two Suffolk foals. Bella should be a stronger price so i wonder if her breeding limits the number of sparks matches available for her. I'm suspicious about the lack of photos. As for the AA filly, her price is a little higher than I'd expect.

I know it was about 6 years ago now but I knew someone selling a superb all-rounder Clydie for much, much less - it was happy to hack, hunt, show, riding club stuff and had also done some prelim & novice dressage. I'm not sure what the horses at CHH do apart from go out on the rides...not that I'm saying there's anything wrong with that at all, especially as that's literally all I do now!
But horses that aren't good all-rounders tend to bring lower prices.

Interesting that apparently some of the fans were saying that she shouldn't have to sell any of the horses - hence the latest fundraiser?
