Restraint for the over-encumbered

I'm not exactly in the heavy calibre class (C), so my preferences may not quite transfer, but surprisingly I found some of the Decathlon sports bras (Kalenji Sportance Comfort) really good (for running as well as riding). Can be worn for normal day wear too (no weird uniboob shape), and reasonably cheap. I had tried the Shock absorber range before that, but couldn't find a model I liked as much.

Do any of you run? I can just about get away with riding in a decent sports bra but running is really painful so I don't (not unless I am physically holding them in place). I would like to take up some gently jogging as part of a fitness regime but until I can get this sorted it isn't happening!

I used to, until I got problems with my feet. I found running better than riding - maybe due to M's huge, very bouncy trot! Both the Shock Absorber and the Freya active (I think it's the same bra with different badges) were fine. Clamped everything right down!

yes, same bra as I use for riding - see post above :) they did a riding version too but tbh I think it was just a different colour.

Don't you all realise that you aren't supposed to ride if you are endowed with something bigger than a Haribo fried egg sweet !!!

Seriously though, I have terrible problems when I'm schooling in a normal underwire. The shoulder straps some off my shoulder when my D cups bounce around. Then, if I don't manage to get it back in place the flipping 'Morag' bounces right out of the cup.

Can't some kind manufacturer make a BP that come with cup sizes. Like another poster, I'm small around the waist and hips but top heavy and I look like a shapeless block with no neck in my XC pics :( (Yes I am a little bit vain LOL)

I'm amazed you even try to ride in a normal bra. I hopped on my friend's horse the other day when I wasn't properly dressed and only lasted about 45 seconds, it was far too painful. Not using the right support and bouncing about can stretch the tissue and do permanent damage.

I know. I try to ride with a sports bra but sometimes, when I'm in a rush to get to the yard after work I forget. And to think years ago I used to ride braless. I'm amazed they don't hang down around my knees (I'm quite ancient) LOL

Never heard then called Morags!! Love it...my Gs are in a M and S sports underwired job. I mainly hunt so by the time I have added thermal vest, hunt shirt, waistcoat and wool coat they get firmly squished into place!

This...

And this... But I do actually do a lot of sitting trot, and find it helps. Mine aren't as big though :p

I should have clarified that with 'on Frank' honestly he is impossible :p and at his age and my brokeness it does neither of us any good.

In the past, when forgotten I have actually been trotting round the arena, given up, put pony back in stable and gone back up to the house to change!

Kanteq body protector, then you will look like Lara Croft :D

Is this really true R? I've always wanted to look like Lara Croft, (or even Miss Piggy!) I don't actually ride any longer, but hey, I'd still be up for buying this body protector if it made me look like Lara. I'd wear it into town....round Sainsburys, to the pub, picking up the kids, walking the dogs and even to church on Sunday...Oh my word, what fun I could have...please tell me it's true, I can barely contain myself, or my Morags! :D

Another vote for the Shock Absorber D+ Classic sports bra - mine are FF and don't budge whether I'm riding or running.

I have the most amazing vision in my head of this body protector that has two holes in it at the front for boobs to go through.

I think there should be a law about posting Morag controlling advice when you only own svelt easily controlled pairs of them.

It's like the owners of Yorkshire terriers advising the owners of St Bernard's on how best to walk them on a lead 🙄.

I also have one of these for my E's and a very bouncy horse! I add a sporty vest top type thing with build in support a size too small for jumping or running.

I have one that converts from normal straps to a X back affair so I don't have to change my bra after a day at work, but just convert it. It is not effective at riding control without the X straps as I realise within 5 mins of getting on if I ever forget!

I have never put on a comfy BP. :(

It is completely and utterly true!!! They are made in standard dress sizes, so they give you a shapely waist and lovely pointy superheroine shaped boobies :D

I have a Kanteq and I am overflowing in the boobage department. They make the BP to fit your size boobage although she did ask me if mine were real or fake( they are real!!!!) as with fake ones the BP has to be looser because the false ones can't be squished in like the real deals. When I wear my BP I don't need to wear a sportsbra but the only sportsbra that I have been happy with is the Freya Active Moulded bra which can be fastened into a racer back when necessary ( trot work).

I now have an image of you fiddling with your straps during your trot transitions .....

I used to ride J bareback with nothing in the way of support. I'm not sure what kind of madness this was... I also have video of me riding him in a (public) field wearing very short shorts and just my shock absorber. I'm surprised I wasn't arrested for that :p

I digress...

Haha, Rowreach. I do it just before I get on!! The thing is not the most comfortable thing in the world so minimum time 'strapped in' is key.

This has just reminded me of a good morag related story. Riding club weekend away, we were out on an all day ride with lots of opportunities for cantering and galloping. One of the more blessed ladies was complaining all day that she was bouncing about a lot and her new sports bra was so useless she was going to take it back when we got home. After getting back to the yard and sorting out the horses, she and a few took themselves off for a shower. Cue much screaming and laughing from the shower block....she'd spent the whole day with her new bra on but not done up!
