Poor you and poor girl to be honest its hard but i would pts rather than loan her or give as companion you never know if they will pass on again, you have given her a good few weeks let her die happy
tbh we have 2 youngsters we own and we agree if we couldn't look after them for any reason we would pts tbh I think it's going to be the best thing for the old one as sad as it is, and believe me it isn't with an easy heart we are doing it but it's not fair on her to go back and be dumped in a fieldPoor you and poor girl to be honest its hard but i would pts rather than loan her or give as companion you never know if they will pass on again, you have given her a good few weeks let her die happy

this pony has soundness issues that make it unrideable, the owner should have done the right thing by the pony and pts. Companion homes are few and far between and no garantee the pony wont one day end up with the meat man anyway.
why some people cant seem to do the right thing by their animals i have no idea.
This old arguement. Why do you assume that just because the horse is lame its unhappy? I dont think any horse should be put down just because it is no longer rideable. There are good companion homes out there so dont automatically assume the owner is cruel for not putting the horse down! I'm looking to loan out one of mine who is mechanically lame, I make it totally clear that he is not 100% sound in the advert in the first place and is only suited to hacking (which he is perfectly able to do and loves it). Going by what you're saying, I'm a nasty owner who should put him to sleep! Why? He's a lovely, very happy horse and if I find the right loan home then great, if not, he stays with me.

I agree, but unfortunately there are "serial owners"Well done for doing the right thing by the horse.
The original owner should be totally ashamed of themselves and never ever be allowed to own another animal.
