Hmmm finding a horse is hard !
So long story short, a friend sent me a link on facebook to the advert for a wonderful mare that a friend of a friend of friend of a friend ( or so i now find out
) was selling. The advert was for a few weeks ago so i didn't think she would still be available but i nonetheless sent a message and got a wonderful prompt response - had a chat about the mare ( and why she was so cheap ) and arranged to go see her the next day. Went down to see her and absolutely loved her. The lady was lovely and said how she had had so many people contact her but they all were wanting to jump her / ride her too intensely. She said she really liked me and that the mare was mine if i wanted her - which i did. We share vet practices as we are in roughly the same area so the lady happily rang up the vets saying they could talk to us about the mare. I had a great talk with the vet who told me her problems etc. So the next day i texted to ask some more information about what workload the lady wanted her to be in, if i could come and try her again, and when would suit her for us to pick the mare up. No response for a whole day . Next day Tried Texting again, messaging on facebook - still no response. This morning i tried messaging her again on facebook only to find she had blocked me from sending messages !? (a pop up box came up everytime i tried to send her a message saying "x is unavailable at present" or some such ). She won't answer a call, even one from a number she does not know is me.
I completely understand if she does not wish to sell the mare or does not wish to sell her to me. But i would expect some sort of communication on the matter - even just a "not wanting to sell" or "no longer available" or even " dont think you are a good match" - not this preschool behavior.
Sorry rant over
Has anyone had similar experiences to this - is this a thing that happens?
