Anyone got? Any opinions? Seen quite a good priced one on ebay, a stable rug, well priced, and thinking that no point in spending too much money on rugs for new lad as he is clearly going to grow considerably over next year to 18 months, so wondered if anyone had any good/bad experiences? TBH if we clip him at all this year will be a bib and belly so think MW rugs will be enough, certainly when out of wind and rain!

I bought some lightweights on ebay (nice navy blue picture on eBay and little note at bottom saying 'no guarentee on colour match with actual product' or something similar) when it arrived it was pastel pink! My big burley grey looked ridiculous! Lol. Quite a nice fit though

Ive got a heavy weight turnout, which I bought a few years ago, and im very pleased with it. One thing I would say is that they come up quite small in size, so go for a size bigger than normal!

I had a lightweight Rhinegold turnout once - never again. It was an atrocious fit, leaked like a sieve and was ripped to shreds within the month by a horse who has never so much as damaged any other rug!

You should be alright with a stable rug as they aren't expected to withstand rain and the great outdoors, but just be cautious with the fit.

My new horsey came with his Rhinegold lightweight turnout rug which he has had for 4 years with his previous owners and yes its a bit tatty but he seems very attached to it and it has been very good at keeping out the rain

I had a turnout rug & it fell to bits. First it was the leg straps, then the tail flap came off. Hood is still ok, but got much less use.

I wouldn't buy another.

I have used one in the past (full neck turnout) and it just would not stay in one place on the horse. It slipped terribly and wasn't that waterproof. Stable rug would probably be OK though as the horse won't move so much

I have a few of them, never had a problem with them. I have stable and turnouts and they are fine. The heavyweight full neck i have had for 6 years and never leaked or rubbed. I also have 2 stable rugs which are fine.
Just wanted to add, i am not a cheapskate, i also have fals, masta, mark todds, premier etc
