Well daughter had her lesson with Richard Davison today that she won for getting the highest percentage at a show. She went there on Monday to have her wow saddle [secondhand ] fitted and Rafi needed an H girth which works brilliantly but he is still not quite use to.
We arrived in plenty of time and looked in the school where 3 horses were working under Richards guidance. They were doing lateral work and changes so straight away thought OMG what is he going to make of Rafi.
Tacked up and went to the outdoor to warm up.Then at 1.15 went to the school.Richard was very welcoming and said Hello to us all and asked about Rafi.We said he was purchased as a yearling for showjumping but has done so well at dressage that we haven't got round to much jumping. He asked to see him work and said he loved what he saw.WOW.
He worked on C sitting stiller and not using legs so much, he made her do lots of sitting trot [she never does any at home but has been riding bareback lately because of saddle problems ,so that helped.] She had to do transitions within a pace and shoulder fore [ she never goes sideways as she is so unsure if she is doing it correctly]
Then near the end of the lesson the next rider arrived ,who was Daryll Thickett, he is a beautiful rider .His horse was so naughty and he just sat to every buck and spin and twist, lovely horse.
As the lesson drew to a close ,Richard said how much he liked Rafi and it would take a very long time to find a horse that is as good ,he loved all his paces but especially his trot.He said he was not just saying this to be nice ,he really rated him.OMG.
I am rubbish at taking photos but here are a couple
Great day ,he invited us to stay and watch but had to get back to pick up granddaughter.
