Does anyone know if he is back to work?
Have had a bit of a horse box disaster and would really like advice to regain horses confidence. I know its a lot of money but if he was available he would be my first choice.

Thanks - was that within the last couple of months, I saw on another post that he had been in hospital with some quite serious injuries?
Poorly rather than an injury but he was up and around a few days later and looking well.

The Cryo therapy is at Kelsall but I guess he was at Somerford advertising it??

Where abouts are you? I had a similar problem with my previous horse used a lady in Somerset who trained with Monty Roberts.

I’ve watched Steve Young videos on YouTube for a tricky horse and found them really helpful. Not sure where he or you are based but he looks good.

I've literally just had Michael Peace out after my loading problems escalated last weekend. He's expensive but you are paying for his experience - and he's picked up on a few areas where I'm causing the problem / not helping which is exactly what I hoped.

He said trauma can take a bit more time to work through but he's calm, quiet and there's zero flag waving or chasing the horse backwards. He'll be my first point of call for anything like this going forward

Thank you everyone - I have sent out a few emails, in the hope someone can help me! I am not hopeful of Richard Maxwell, my local friend who has used him in the past and said she would share a call out, said she always contacts him via fb .... but there is no message option anymore.

However, as I am desperate, I have downloaded the loading videos, so at least I have a plan if I can't find anyone who will come and see me in the wilds (an hour from the nearest motorway!!).

Me and loads of my friends have successfully used Matt from HorseHelp UK who is based in Cheshire.

He wouldn't describe himself as a horse whisperer but I have no better way to describe what he does. He tailors the approach to the horse.

He is incredibly difficult to get hold of now. You have to be prepared to wait for each reply, it’s frustrating but worth it. I also contacted Michael Peace but as i’d used RM in the past with great success, i opted for him again

I used Richard Maxwell 20 odd years ago for a tricky loader and he was superb, think it was about £200 back then which seemed eye watering but he’s over £400 now so probably was about right then 😂

Anyway he was great and we only needed the one trip to us and he sorted the horse! X

Having used both I would always go for RM over MP. I found the only way to get him to come down to me was to phone and message him constantly! But it worked and I now have a different horse that I can take places

Interesting, why would you choose RM over MP? I feel RM is probably a get the job done whereas I get the impression sometimes MP leaves before it’s done but maybe the horse has had enough?

I’ve had RM out to two different horses, he was fine for the bolshy, rude aggressive first horse but the second is much more sensitive and I think he was overwhelmed a bit as he is always polite if given the chance but think things were done a little quicker than he could cope with (the horse)

Mine is a sensitive overly anxious chap who prior to the RM visit hid his insecurities behind his (lack of) ground manners.

MP came out and spent less than hour with my horse, said there was nothing wrong and it was basically all me. Charged me full whack and my horse and I learnt nothing as “there wasn’t a problem”. Note that MP had previously come out to help me a load a previous horse and had been helpful. To say I was disappointed was an understatement.

Persevered for another six months but horse was making very little progress. RM came out and spent almost the whole day with me. Helped with his insecurities and then we worked on loading. By the end of the visit (lots and lots of breaks including a 1.5hr lunch break) my horse was so much better and visibly more relaxed, comfortable and confident. His posture had changed. Even now when he is struggling with something I can go back to using the RM headcollar and groundwork to instantly take away the issue. The visit has transformed us and we haven’t looked back since.

Rm was brilliant with me too , he gives you all the time you need however long that is , it’s amazing how much the head collar and groundwork work in solving issues and calming the horse as Barlow says he leaves you with the tools to solve many issues as they arise .

My horse is so much calmer in her stable since I had Rm she is cleaner and no longer kicks the walls like she used to .
No idea why it works so well but it does and it is life changing .

Hi Canteron. I’m trying to arrange a clinic with him just outside Oxford, hopefully next month. Don’t know if that’s anywhere near you, but let me know if it is.

Joe Midgley is also superb at loading issues, and does not charge 'famous name' prices. He will one day, I am sure as he is just as good! (And in my view considerably better than some of the sames mentioned on the thread).
