Didnt ride him, but when I was 12 I had a cuddle in the stable with Penwood Forge Mill (Paddy McMahon). He was huge and had feet like dinner plates. I was told that he could never be hacked out without him taking off to jump the nearest hedge!!!
Oooh my best mates parents owned the yard that Mark Todd used for the majority of the 80's and the early 90's. We kept our ponies on the yard as well and had plenty of rides on Marks horses - Charisma, Face the Music and numerous others who I cannot remember the show names of but stable names include Merlin (Carolyns boy), Ark, Red and Squiffy.
My sister had a wonderful experience when she was bucked off her pony on Salisbury plain who took off and galloped the 5+ miles or so home. He was found in the yard by one of Marks grooms who preceded to saddle up two horses and rode one and led the other to go and find her. My sister had a wonderful hack home eventually on Charisma the "spare" horse as he was the easiest & nicest horse on the yard!

Does a before they were famous count? My mum's Arab gelding Mishlah wnet on to be in the top 3 Arab Racehorses in the country for 5 years - I must have been about 4yrs old when I rode (cough cough sat) on him! he was also part of the big parade they did at Kempton Park (I think) - we have cuttings of him at home
I rode Aldaniti - Grand National winner on a sponsored ride when I was 15 - and I accompanied Bob CHampion on his London to Liverpool ride a few years after when he was riding though my area - was supposed to ride Brave Highlander too about four years ago, but my mare had colic surgery the week before and I had to stay home to look after her.
my aunt - red rum she used to gallop him along southport beach where she helped to train him. and one of my friends rode merrylegs (one of the little girls) in black beauty. Not me though!
I have ridden Bar Hammonds Olympic horse krist and her GP horses Shayen and Chagall.
Once we were at Bill Nobels yard and I was waiting for Bar to finish riding and Bill had just finished riding a little chestnut horse and asked me if I could jump on him and walk him round to cool off. Bar commented on what a nice horse it was and Bill said that Charlotte Edmonds was buying him, the horse was called Torque o the Devil
Vicky said I could have a ride on Welton Molecule when she gets him back!

I ride a particular international dressage riders horses a couple of times a week, only warming up and cooling off, but we're sometimes allowed to have a play! x
When I left school I went to work in a SJ/Eventing yard for two sisters in Wales. One of their horses went on to win Badminton with a very well known male rider. (Was a while after I left though but it's still my claim to fame that I did roadwork on that horse!)

Also saw Fresh Direct Animation (now ridden Tim Stockdale) before she was a famous SJ as the owner is local to me. She had such a big jump she used to zoom off out of the practice ring after a jump.

Know that horse very well used to jump against it all the time when James rode her. Not the prettiest mare but god could she jump. very much 'reliable Annie' and was unbeatable at the time in 1m10s-1m25s. Always knew she had the ability to go furhter. never sat on her though
Errr ridden an Advanced eventer owned by a certain forum member
Amanti albeit briefly for talent spotters
Ex 4* ride of Chris Bartle's not sure which though as was a few years back when I rode it. Got to see Word Perfect as well when at YRC week before Burghley when was somewhat controversially left out of the championship team for whatever it was that year (2001?!).
Erm rode what became an low level international SJer as a 4yo which somewhat surprised me as was far from impressed when I rode it.
Ridden some locally famous horses but nothing that most would have heard of. Also ridden various YR and Jnr dressage horses and ponies before they quite got to Euro stages through talent spotters, including 'Squirrel' wonderful coloured pony that Charlie (i think) Hutton had a few years back (1999 ish) who had done the eventing europeans
