We recently competed in two classes, ridden horse and hunter type, in the 1st class ridden horse we were pulled in 3rd consequently moved down to 4th due to the ride judge getting in her opinion a 'poor ride' fair enough thats her decision no probs with that but the next class, Hunter type, the poor ride marks were carried on into that separate class which meant the ride judge refused to ride our horse again and as obviously his confirmation cannot change he was not stripped and run up so in affect our daughters horse was placed way down the line and they had to stand in line for 25min while the rest were ridden and run up and she and 4 others were told to leave the ring while the top six stayed in so in affect we had paid £15 for them to walk trot and canter round the ring four times and not be judged. I would point out we are not professionals and show for fun and traveling costs to us can be £100+,
We constantly read show secretarys imploring us to come and support the shows I do not think this is the way to encourage us to come back. In regards to the bad ride I would point out the horse was well mannered and did what was asked of him.
Can anyone tell me is this the correct procedure? or were we just unlucky.
