Riding and jealous partners?

I had a real issue with this. I used to go to the yard for a couple of hours and my then partner used to accuse me of being up there too long, so I must be having an affair. He used to want to know which ‘men’ were up there. But it was only ever other people’s partners! Turned out he had mental health issues and was cheating himself. I ran a mile and now know the warning signs!

Does anyone have to deal with this at all? We have a mixture of men and women at my yard and if I ride out with a guy (straight one) it is an issue. Is this normal?
(I will add we have been together for many, many years, have a family and he has no reason to think I would cheat).

Definitely not normal, is it an issue if there is another female in the group??

Very little of what humans do is "normal" these days.

I agree that it shouldn't be a problem for you to hack out with a straight man, as it shouldn't be a problem for you to work in an office with a straight man. This is not Saudi Arabia.

A bloke who feels himself getting older and sees his wife as being still very attractive may well think that other men are looking at her and eyeing her up. He gets jealous.

Many men have been in the situation of the wife feeling that she is no longer as attractive as she used to be, and thinking that younger women are rivals for her husband's attention. She gets jealous.

I went to Trailblazers and the very dashing and straight (well I assume, he has a wife, although you never really know!) Charlie Hutton was giving the demo lecture.

He was tall, dark, handsome, a great rider, and very funny. OH and I were watching and at the end I turned to him and said 'HEY OH would you mind if I went for a little ride with Charlie?' and waggled my eyebrows a bit, and he just said 'no love that's fine' and totally missed the waggle. And when I said 'wouldn't you worry about me running off with him' first he said 'no, because he's got eyes, and second because I bet he doesn't like cars' as though OH liking cars is a trump card.

So no, my OH doesn't worry about me running off with men who ride horses.
