Riding hat got a knock

so how safe will it be now?

Riding down a track on a very excited polo pony, we ended up doing the sideways prance! At one point she pranced so much that my hat got hit by a tree branch. I did duck, not quite enough though, but it was a glancing blow, and my cover has a green stain on it, so I know it was hit!

I know if you fall off you should get it checked, likewise if you drop it on the yard.
What do you reckon?

It's your head, what's it worth to you? Only you know how hard the knock was, but I'd be changing it!

If it's dropped or knocked in any way, I would personally change it.

You can't necessarily see the damage if there is any, but as already said, up to you.

i wouldnt change it for just a knock by a branch but thats just me.
If you are worried enough to ask on here just change it to put your own mind at rest.

You should replace it immediately as once it has had an impact to it will no longer be protective.

Even if there are no visible signs of damage it's possible that the hat will now have lost it's shock absorbing ability and so if there's an occasion where you really need that protection it will be gone. If you've any doubts at all don't risk what potentially could be your life.
