Well do you? And if you do, what do you do after? Do you just turn out straight away or keep them in for couple of hours to dry off?

Its absouloutely pouring it down, but i spotted a girl happily riding in it?
Im a fair weather rider, what are you?

It depends really, if the horse is home rather then on livery the chances are he would be dry so I'll stick an exercise sheet on and go for a hack.

When he's at the other yard he is 20 miles/half an hour drive away so I usually cant find the motivation to go and ride in the rain then :o

Took my daughter out last sunday in the rain, we not seen rain for that long it was quite a novelty to go out in it, pony did'nt mind she's a new forest so not fussed about the weather, i was walking and my legs were soaked from the long grass though !
We did'nt go far so she was turned straight out again , did chicken out today though , it's rained all day and my car is poorly so have got soaked twice just biking to work etc, that was quite enough . :)

I have mine at home, and i still find it hard to find motivation in this rain! :p

Im going to try and become more tough with myself ha! I got the stables so i dont see no reason why not, its just the though of getting drenched!

I'm sort of a fair weather rider. I'll ride in light rain, but if it's blowing a gale and/or bucketing it down I don't.

i rode out in it today, taz didnt get too wet as he had an exercise sheet on unlike me in a t-**** (idiot) so i just dumped a rug on him and chucked him out again, he doesnt care :)

I'm a "mature" happy hacker. We don't go if its raining cats & dogs; boiling hot, too cold, blowing a hooley, too many clouds in the sky, too bright sunlight, etc etc.

If we do mischance get caught out in the rain; I've got a very nifty little ride-on waterproof saddle cover which you can get loads of on e-bay and they do't break the bank. I've got a new saddle with a suede seat and knee-rolls, so am a bit precious over it - and this saddle cover is fab. You can poke the stirrups through holes on the sides so you don't feel strange or anything.

Don't do rain but I did make the effort and loose school her (else she becomes feral!). I also brought her in for the night as her field has no field shelter and I'm a softee;)

I ride in the rain but not when its pouring down. Where i live we have sunshine and showers at the moment but will be riding out later in it. I'll put my mares waterproofs on and i'll put mine one and Way hay away we go. We have woodland where i live so will take her through there so we dont get soaking wet. Most welshies are fine in the rain and thats what i have.

I ride whatever the weather, if my horse gets wet then I dry her off in the stable before putting a turnout rug on, but if she doesn't need z rug she can go out wet. Keep.meaning to get a waterproof exercise sheet for bad weather.

It depends on the roads and visibility.
I find the arena (part of a grassy field) too slippy in the rain so we hack. If there are large puddles, then its not worth it due to drivers carelessness.

She lives out with no rug, so I put her out. She can have a roll etc. If it's cold, I put a rug on and keep an eye on her. Keeping her in stresses her!

As long as horse is dry I will ride. If horse is wet then only if I have time to wait for him to dry. I have a rainsheet for him. But we have to be careful by the coast/moor as often rain means either sea fret which makes it rather foggy, OR low cloud which has same effect. And I will NOT ride in fog.
I prefer to ride in the rain on the beach, as it is the only time when we can have the beach to ourselves! So I will make an effort if the tide is out.

I'll ride in any weather. I'm a Cornish lass - made of far tougher stuff than that lot up north :D Rain doesn't bother me, neither does strong wind, though I do draw the line in hacking out when it's very stormy as I won't risk getting struck by lightning! Having spent a lot of time living in Italy and Portugal where it's uncomfortably hot for a portion of the year, I know I would far rather ride in the rain than baking heat!
