I need to buy some riding socks and I always buy the wrong ones - either too saggy, too short, too thick, too thin, holes after one ride…

Recommendations would be most welcome before I spend anymore on rubbish socks 😅

I swear by these Pikeur ones. The padded sole works wonders for keeping holes at bay.

Ooooh I’ve not tried the sock bottom /tight top ones yet - and the Dublin ones are cheap enough to try… I’ve seen them a few times but always scrolled past thinking if they’re too thick…

Thanks for your replies :) back to online shopping 🙌

I stopped wearing Fouganza (Decathlon's own brand) socks because they were too thick and warm, made my calves sweaty. Tried a thinner pair from Horze, ok.

But for the past year I've been wearing ordinary everyday ankle socks.

Woof Wear bamboo (long or short) worn for years and they have lasted for years, for thinner ones that are a bit silky eurostar or dreamers and schemers (quite long in the leg)
These are lovely to wear but mine get holes within 2 months, I've given up on them after about 6 pairs. My friend had the same problem. We are obvioulsy heavy on our feet!

for winter Pikeur-only these stand up to walking round teaching all day plus riding etc

for summer kingsland ultra thin show socks, or imperial riding ultra thin which are both a lot tougher than they look!

Animo also wear very well but are stupid £££ just for socks!!!!

The half tights ones are great in summer. Mine are Kingsland and I'm only on my third packet in over ten years.

My top tip for winter if your feet are 6 or bigger is M&S men's merino socks (they don't seem to do them for women), which are a great length, thin but decent warmth. Minus temperatures I add a second pair.

Mine were the same. Lovely socks to wear. Got holes in very quickly.

Mine were the same too - the thin ones I went through very quickly and the thick ones lasted a bit longer (not as long as the other makes of socks) and made my feet sweat, which they never really do in anything else.

There are new types of socks and i have a few pairs, kinda like tights at the top and socks at the bottom

I've just bought a pack of these! Seemed reasonable for 3 pairs x

Even with riding boots on? My joddies all have a very thin lycra bottom so like a bit of sock coverage too haha

dreamers and schemers are getting a few mentions - I've never heard of them before but will take a look :)

Oh maybe I need to give LM a go. I usually avoid where I can but I really miss the Noble Outfitters socks.

The LM ones are a carbon copy of the NO ones. I have some that LM one's easily years old whereas I've got through all three pairs in a Dublin set in months.

My biggest gripe is I don't see plain versions and I'm rubbish at keeping matching pairs so often wonder around with one unicorn sock and one flower patterned sock or something equally random 🤣

Love a mix match sock 😂
