Riding Tights

I really like them, they’re more on the pricier side but they regularly do offers. Sort of like jod material but much thinner, but not at all see through, and are really comfortable.

No pockets in the comp. ones but I suppose you’re normally in a comp jacket with pockets. Anyhow, am going to try a pair of the biscuit ones for my upcoming hunter trial. They have a proper trial with my Covid jelly legs to contend with!

What's the difference between riding tights and pull on jodhpurs?
.

I’ve got Dublin warm-it riding tights and the only real difference from my normal breeches is they do not have zips or buttons and are very stretchy and not restrictive anywhere. They don’t have pockets either but do have belt loops. They are not thin though although I find the fabric on these particular ones doesn’t last if you’ve thighs that rub together :( so they haven’t ast me a full year but I’ve kept buying them as they’re so comfortable. The cool-it version are a lot thinner more like tights.

as someone who rides in whatever trousers I'm wearing: sports leggings, breeches, jeans, sweatpants, etc I really like riding in leggings. They're much more flexible and very breathable for those of us who get sweaty easily! I personally don't ever really find that I have an issue with slipping but leggings are possibly a little slipper than other options? I believe that the ones with silicone are very good however

As above - sports leggings for me. Similar idea, a fraction of the price, dry quickly if you get rained on, cool/warm in all weathers. For the people who like riding gear with a grippy seat - what do you do when it rains? Waterproofs are mega slippery, but very necessary!

I have two pairs of kingslands - one summer pair (worn to death) and a fleecy winter pair and a pair of dublins. All 3 have full seat silicone but the kingslands are stickier. They have caused some colour damage to the surface of my dressage saddle but my gp seems unaffected. Love my leggings so think I need a seat saver to protect the saddle!

I have a pair of decathlon riding tights that are great in very hot weather- they are super thin and light. They have knee grips but I use a gel out seat saver anyway, so I’ve never had a problem with slipping.
I also have a pair of Hy riding tights and these are my favourite. So comfy. Think I only paid £25 for them too.

What are the sizing like on noble outfitters? I’m a size 10, would I get small or medium?

Not going to lie the first time I rode in a pair it definitely felt different, like I wasn't wearing anything lol! However got used to them really quickly. First pair were Noble Outfitters and cannot question the quality of those, only now starting to show signs of age after nearly 2 years of regular use. My other pairs are a cheap make - Sheldon - however I've been blown away with how well they are doing having only cost £28. Just bought a new pair which now has a phone pocket which is a huge plus point.

I have the pikeur gia riding tights which are lovely and comfortable but a little baggy. I also have 2 pairs of Kingsland Karina's and they are super - much more tight fitting but at the same time comfortable and flattering. The full seat is grippy but doesn't constrict your movement. I've not noticed any damage to my saddle.

I love love love my Flexars. I'm contrary and have actually lost weight during the pandemic (nearly 3 stone so far). Even though they were great beforehand they still fit now and aren't all baggy in the important places like some of my others. When I lose weight it comes off my thighs and bum first so jods that fit round my waist are usually baggy, saggy and uncomfortable in those areas but not these. They are very stretchy but don't go see through when they stretch. I was always one for cheap and cheerful but I saw so many good reviews for flexars, I splashed out and I don't think I'll buy any others now! I wear them round the house and out running too as they're so comfy.

I might just be in denial about the extent of my lockdown podge but I found that they came up quite small so I'd go for the medium.

Having just bought the flexars though, I'd go for the flexars over the Noble Outfitters.

Super comfy, various options of seats to give stickability across the brands - thickness wise it totally depends on what you buy. Some are much better than others.

I have two pairs of Gallop riding tights which I love. They are high waisted, have pockets for phone etc, don't slide about and aren't see through. They are also very reasonably priced. You do have to go up a size though. I'm a12 and have had to buy a large.

I have both Dublin and Noble outfitters tights and lets just say since I got the Noble tights I've never worn the Dublin ones. I just wear, wash and repeat my Noble tights and often wear them all day whilst sitting at my desk at home. I'm a pear shaped size 12 and wear a medium in Noble outfitters so what size Flexars should I go for? Their website say small for 10-12 but I'm not sure I'm a size small anything :p

I’d go for the small. I was on the large side of 14 when I first bought mine and they recommended a medium (which made me very happy!) they fitted me fine then as they have plenty of stretch. I’ve since lost weight and am now on the small side of 14 and they fit me better now. I think I’d squeeze into a smaller size even now with the amount they stretch so if you’re 10-12 small would be perfect for you.

I keep hearing this! I’m a bit scared to order a pair though in case I love them and then am compelled to buy more ? supposed to be saving for a trailer

This is what's happened to me, ordered a pair for competing and now all my other riding tights feel inadequate... I haven't actually bought any others yet but I REALLY want to...

I ordered the Grey and Brown Flexars on Saturday evening and they've arrived today, in lovely little drawstring bags with a handwritten note, customer service is amazing . Good job as I got drenched to the skin in my Navy ones this morning - oh dear I'll have to wear one of my new ones for going to the yard after work!

Everyone please stop! I’ve just spent £70 on photos from the weekend events and am supposed to be saving for a trailer.

but also how does the sizing come up? My bug bear with other tights is that they fit my hips and thighs but are then baggy around my waist.

Sizing is generous as there's a lot of stretch but they're not all baggy if you're at the smaller end of the scale either. Go with the size guide on the website and if you're on the cusp, i'd go down rather than up. If in doubt phone them - they've been known to send both sizes and ask you to send the ones you don't want back.

Agree. I am between sizes and have a small and a medium pair, both fit but I will order the smaller size when I buy my next pair (which will hopefully be when they release a dark grey pair!)

The difference is the price the riding tights are way more expensive .

The riding tights are usually made from a different material too, they're usually a more 'technical' fabric like gym or running leggings and so I find them far more comfortable and less restrictive but at the same time they're more flattering.

I was skeptical of them for years but now I'm a complete convert.

ETA They're also far quicker to dry, which for me is a godsend when I work out just before I go to bed that I need them the next morning...
