We do say that if Blackies leg were in proportion then he would be a good 16hh, he does have little legs and I do have shortish stirrups (remember 2nd dressage test in a place he hadnt been to before so just thinking security, not that I needed to worry). I think you look fine on that mare and she is a lot less solid then our Blacks.
Like I said, there is nothing wrong in rider weight to horse carrying ratio. i was only pointing out the visual. Take another pic of them jumping say, could give a totally different example.
It's only one photo to go by so doesn't tell whole story.
And i'm not looking for people to be polite...just plain honest !
To be quite frank, i'm sick and tired of people making statements about what is too heavy and what is not....if people knew how much I actually weigh they'd probably have a fit...especially in light of what I do with my horses...but hey ho...they don't mind and they actually do their job quite well.....despite my bulk
Well my husband rides Gem our 16'3 ID and he is 16 stone. She goes better for him then either me or GinaGem (well with the jumping). Not anywhere near your level of course but still. You must weigh less then him!!!!
Is compacted a good thing? He certainly feels very solid to ride, he makes you feel very safe. A completely different ride to my Otto (the bay below!).
I honestly can't see anything wrong?!
I wouldbe completely slated for riding my tb type, and my 14.2 but neither seem to bother, so I'm not! (I'm not that heavy..but not exactly ideal!!
