To the winter

I have used a Rambo Duo rug on melin for the last 2 winters and its great.... except that he has lost his mane for the last third towards his withers.

Last year it was less obvious, but this year its really not recovering

He does live out in it 24/7, but I am sure not everyone has this problem.

Soooo, what I am thinking is a change of rug may be in order.

What do you all recommend

Is the Premier Equine range any good?? Should I go for Mark Todd?? Or is the Rambo the best there is

I love my Duo and wouldn't change it for anything, I guess it may suit some horses better then others though.

If I was to get different heavy weight rug I would either get a Rambo Supreme (Would think it is a similar fit to the duo though so may still rub his mane)

Ahhh.... I should have said that it needs to be a rug i can layer like the duo (I know not much official choice, but duo liners can be used with lighter weight rugs).

He will not be clipped so I need the option of 100g upwards

Oh right in that case I THINK New Rhinos and possibly Rambos have fitting so that Duo liners can be attached to them, will go and have a search and see if I can find them!

Arrgg, can't find them now. Not sure if they have even been released, think I must have seen them in an advert but can't think where. That is really going to bug me now!!

To be honest I had one TB type who used to loose his mane there with a Rambo too - 99% of horses are fine though. I would have thought you need to go for a completely different type of fit. What about a FAL

Hmmm..... he used to have a pale green fal, without a neck cover though....
