My friend lost her beloved horse yesterday.
He was her first horse she ever owned by herself and had owned him for 18 years. He was 29 years old and an ex hunter. He was an ID x TB so i think he did amazingly well.
We knew he would be put down this year as his arthritis wasn't getting better and she tried everything, didn't expect it to be this soon though.
I've known him for 2 and a half years and i'm gutted, I can't even begin to imagine how she feels.
He had the happiest life and it was an honor to know him and be the last person to ride him which was last summer. (He still needed his martingale back then!)

RIP Danny and Mosh I'd recommend your friend reading Liveryblues poem starting "God knew you were tired...". You'll be howling before you've read even half of it but it's beautiful and cathartic. Thanks again liveryblues and hugs to all owners who are facing or have faced the trauma of a precious friend having to be pts xxx

thank you all for your kind words
box_of_frogs? could you send me the poem, i can't seem to find it anywhere, although my comp is a pain.
She knew it was coming and she tried to prepare for it but how can you ever prepare for it?
x
