RIP Fatty

This afternoon my friend Fatty took his last trip out of the stable and over to the pastures in the Sky .
He was the naughtiest cheekiest ID ever bred the best gents hunter I have ever seen .
He came to us on trial and failed the vet his heart has in a dangerous condition I could not part with him he stayed and we managed to get him right it’s a long story .
He carried MrGS also well he had a special trick of landing over a fence checking that the rider was in the middle and hitching them into the middle if they where not , we called that ID auto correct .
We will miss him so much .
So sorry GS that Fatty is in Sky skittles Pastures running free. I know what you mean by auto correct, my late ID mare did this always making sure mum stayed on. This ID not she likes to switch lanes on landing making mum carry on in the middle lane ( well she did this once or twice )

RIP Fatty enjoy the rainbow skittles pastures.🌈

I'm sorry to read this GS. Fatty sounded like my sort of horse. Monty also did the autocorrect, I think it was half the reason nobody ever fell off him in his 23 year ridden career. They are the best ones, the ones who want to keep you safe.
We had an absolute nutcase of an Appaloosa, who made sure that she never lost a rider in the 23 yrs that we had her, goodness knows how she did it sometimes but she always kept her back flat and straight. She was another of those special characters whose memory lives on, long after they have left us.

RIP Fatty, and look after yourself GS. He was a huge character from what you have posted on the forum, and has been given a great kindness when his time came.

If Monty felt you unbalanced on landing after a jump he would go dead straight, slow down very gently and put his head up to shove you back into the saddle. I didn't mention that a few of us fell over with him though. He was a clumsy bugger. It was a long way from his brain to his feet . Thinking about him always makes me smile, there's just not one story of him being naughty (not to humans anyway).

Hope you'll be smiling about Fatty memories soon GS.
