RIP

I had an Aigle fleece for about 16 years, I had it when I had my first pony aged 12, I was still wearing it aged 23 and working with pointers when one of them bit a hole in the arm - I was gutted! A couple of years later the elastic in the cuffs finally gave up and went all baggy.
I still have it but don't really wear it any more, very occasionally when everything else is in the wash!!

I finally threw out my favourite jumper years ago when someone commented on the "unusual but lovely two-tone effect" and I looked down, confused because it was plain black, and realised it was so threadbare you could see my t-shirt through it. I'm very guilty of buying new things because the old one is wearing out, then continuing to use the old one because there's still life in it and I feel bad throwing it away, like discarding an old friend :(

Replacing zips is fairly routine, can't you take them to a shoe repair person?

Because I have worn the inside of the calves into holes and the creases on the ankles are wearing through it's time for them to go .
I have had them for years and they were not expensive but they where so comfy and fitted me so well .

When I have to throw away a loved item, I have to give it to my OH to do, otherwise it will sneak its way back into the cupboard. I culled his polo shirts for him a while ago. He was too upset to do it himself :D

I've been trying to think of the oldest thing I own, that I still use and it's an Aran Cardigan my late nan knitted me when I was 10. Still fits as she made it, "to grow into and last a lifetime", so 28 years on, it still looks as though she only made it yesterday. I take it out on days where I need to get warm quickly and it's like a trip down memory lane.

I still use the boot pull I had a gift to go off to Hartpury in 1995 as well :)

Ah, I see; time for a dignified end then......

oh awesome, maybe I shall re-invest this year. Worked out that they ended up costing me £8 per year as they were £120 15 years ago, so that's not too bad in the grand scheme of things!! glad to hear that yours have lasted 5 years and still going strong! do you have the neoprene ones too?

Yes, the Aigle Parcours ISO - still as good as new other than my dodgy feet wearing the heels down more on the inside than the outside.
