The grey boy has just turned 5 and he has been as good as gold since I have had him. I have never had a youngster before but he is totally straightforwards and quite a few people have said they would take him home with them!
We have lessons every week with a fab trainer who is keen to prepare him for young horse classes next year (this year they were just too soon after I bought him) although I would be terrified to ride in them! I am stewarding at the young horse champs next month so I can scare myself even more
We have entered 5 unaffiliated prelims at home and won or been placed every time. However, our highest percentage has only been 67% and trainer is frustrated as she reckons he is a 70% horse. I was quite proud of the fact he has got a few 8s but overall I cannot keep him working as consistently as my trainer (obviously!) So I am putting Risby on schooling livery over August. I really didnt want to as I feel like a failure
, but it will do him good to have a pro rider on him and to bring him on some more. He is a lovely ride, just needs someone a bit stronger to push him a bit further as he is definitely capable of it.
In the meantime I am hoping to go to Germany for some lessons myself and maybe a detour to the Spanish Riding School so keep you updated if it all goes ahead.
Sadly dont have any new photos as family and bf are useless and never come to shows. Hmph. But will get some taken soon hopefully.
