Rising Trot Diagonals

Ditto this. I do a lot of writing, a comment may be made but marks will not be deducted just for riding on the wrong diagonal.

I once had "for higher marks, check your diagonals", which infuriated me as I don't need to check them, I know I'm on the "wrong" one, I just don't see the need to correct it. Alternate, sure, but in a test, not my priority. Now I just ride tests sitting instead - pony prefers it, I prefer it, it's all good.

Was that unaffiliated?

IMO it's ever so important to make sure you are on your proper diagonal. My welshie was so weak initially she would do anything to change me to the right rather then the left diagonal. I really had to work hard but she is beautifully even on both reins now. I always make sure I change diagonal every 20 strides when out hacking. I really feel all horses need that.
Never been marked down in dressage for the wrong diagonal however when she was very weak and sometimes I took the easy way out it would effect her balance in turns ( as it will do make no mistake) and therefore got marked down for that.
I really think not enough people take it in to account but for me one of the most important part of tainting you horse.
