Roland Tong clinics - views/opinion?

Hi quite a few friends have had lessons with him and really praise him as an instructor and i think they quite like him as a person aswell which always helps - my y.o is very against him but she is 1 negative comment i have heard amidst at least 10 very positive!
I watched a clinic he did and one of the girls i watched riding was truly fantastic - a rider that i would aspire to learn from and if i could even be 1/2 as good as her i would be pleased and she swore by using him as a teacher too.

He does clincs at my yard, I've watched him ride a lot and I know people who are friends with him. Noone I know has a bad word to say about him - he's an excellent trainer and a really nice person.

Personally, not my cup of tea.
I like someone consistant who remembers what we are working on from one lesson to the next, who concentrates on the basics rather than the tricks and also someone who knows when to stop pushing.

I run clinics with Roland and I have only ever seen happy people and horses going really well. He does focus on the basics, and getting the horses really working over the backs and really improving the way of going. I have never seen him focus on tricks at the deteriment to any of this. I had 11 VERY happy clients today after a clinic

Can only reiterate what above poster has said.

I have monthly lessons with him, he is brilliant.Really nice and always gets my horse going well. In fact, I was gutted yesterday as traffic was awful and I missed my lesson! I look forward to it!
