ok so what sizo roller do you use on a 14.2, tried full on her and it was huge! shes quite fine, not sure wether to get her cob or pony! also which is the first setting for a pessoa? and how long do you start using it for? thanks x

I'd probably try a cob sized roller next, as pony would probably be too small.

With the pessoa, does depend on the pony a bit but generally I would start with it on the lowest setting (between front legs), then gradually work up over time as pony grew stronger. But if you find the pony goes better with the setting higher then use this. If the pony isn't used to working in this manner then start with only very short sessions, say 5 mins on each rein. You can soon build up. Also look for a pony/cob sized pessoa as I don't think the horse ones are terribly adjustable.

Can't help with the pessoa, but as far as the roller goes - try to get one which has it's own girth if you can - i.e one that buckles up on both sides. That way it is more adjustable and you can just use a normal (cheap) dressage girth instead if the one supplied is too long.

I bought a full size roller as I had a big horse at the time - my mare is much smaller than my old horse so I just use her 22" dressage girth on the roller instead. Perfect.

For the Pessoa I would go on the John Whitaker International website, click on the link called "Brochure" at the top of the page and then click on the picture that comes up to open the brochure. Then go to page 24 out of 64, this gives you information on the different settings of the JW equivalent of the Pessoa

Hope this helps
