Nobody has come forward to the Dog Warden or the Police about this dog, and she's unchipped, so she needs a home. She's at a local kennels now and is safe for a week...
Young, long tail, friendly, loving rottie bitch.
I'm contacting Rottweiler Welfare as well, but if anyone knows of anyone looking for a rottie, this is a lovely dog who needs a loving forever home, please, pass the word around.
I absolutely cannot keep her, I have 6 dogs already...

Oh how sad :( Did the aggression disappear once she settled?

Yes, she's now totally adorable, all waggy tail and very friendly immediately to the dog warden, the kennels people etc.
I think she was just totally bewildered, hurting, cold, wet, terrified, and we'd chased her for a mile or so (in vehicles) before finding her in a ditch. She wasn't cornered but I think she was just too exhausted and sore to carry on, hence the defensiveness. After a few hours of peace here on her own in my ducks' cage (they'll be happy to get their home back!) she accepted bits of food through the grille and was absolutely fine from then on, hasn't shown any aggression at all since, incl being lifted into my car today.
she's a lovely sweet girl and really deserves a super loving home.

So glad she turned out to be adorable, one of the nastiest dogs I ever dealt with a shar pei, once caught and received pain killers for a broken leg etc turned out to be such a sweetie, fear really does completely mask their normal behaviour.

Digger123 has recently had their rotti pts, I know they weren't particularly looking at getting another rotti, but you might want to pm them about her?????

They tend to be pretty defensive to strangers and was prob scared and they do guard well behind bars, I hope she can get a home, obs I love rotts and bitches tend to be very loving and docile within a family unit, they just do a good job of guarding:D
Where abouts are you?.
I will go have a look on the rescue sites and see if anyone is looking for one, a bitch will prob be easier to home than a dog.

So glad she's turned out to be a nice dog after all. God she must have been so confused - I wonder what on earth her story was?

I hope you manage to find a home for her, she sounds like she needs some stability.

Aw so pleased, the poor girl must have been terrified. SOunds the type that should find a fabulous home...I really hope she finds one.

bumping this up, and adding that i got a strange phone call today from a 'friend of the former owner' who doesn't want her back... but i managed to find out that she's less than a year old.
poor girl really deserves a lovely home, anyone, please?

I was just saying the other day that when my housemate goes I want another more guard dog type dog as in a large 4 bed house on my own (and Arch is by no means a guard dog)......such a shame this isn't a few months down the line as I was considering Rotties or Dobes.....

Lol if you want a 'guard' dog I wouldn't bother with a Rottie...more likely they'd open the door and show the intruder around!!! Small terrier type is what you want, something that will make such a noise no one would dare enter the house!!

Argh! Things like this make me so cross

Hope that the lovely girl finds the home that she deserves. :( xx

If you PM me your details i will post on FB too, one of my friends is a massive rottie fan with lots of rottie loving friends. :)

If you could pm me the details too please. We rehomed a male rottie last week to a farm family (he needed to live outdoor life) but did have alot of enquiries about him. Suspect most were from the 'dog make's me look tough' bridgade but you never know one might have been genuine so I'll check them out and see. Our rescue will obviously do the homecheck and offer back up in case anything happens if we rehome via one of our contacts. Has the dog been spayed do you know? We would arrange that if not, we won't rehome dogs unspayed under any circumstances.

I've just asked around and a friend of an eventing friend is looking for that sort of size of dog at the moment. She's experienced and reasonably local so if I hear back with a positive I'll be straight on to you! Fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed, she is ALL MINE! Taking it nice n slow so as not to stress her, as in meeting family and other dogs and we're taking her to the beach tomorrow. I bet she's not seen one before.... Then it's a case of arranging vaccs and spaying.
She truly is adorable. With me it was love at first sight!

Great news, fingers crossed everything goes well.

I am SO happy for the lovely Roxy Rottie and Lyn & family, definitely a forever loving home, and of course you know I'd always take her back if circumstances changed or anything.
