Just seems a real shame to me, seeing as if John had gone in and got himself eliminated then he could have jumped - I bet the other teams would have wanted leniency if they were in this position.

exactly. its ludicrous that he could be allowed had he ridden a lame horse! how that puts horse welfare before competition i dont know. i just think it must be agony that they've excluded him from the individual too, i think that is something else that seems a backwards rule tbh
Yes but haven't nine teams gone through lucretia? Therefore somebody has been lucky to get a place in the 2nd round that they wouldn't otherwise have been able to.
