Anyone tried Rowen Barbary feeds? Thinking of trying the RB ReadyFibre Mash and possibly Senior Support, but would like to hear your opinions first.

I've kind of accidentally started feeding my sec D on the standard ReadyMash, she dropped off a bit and I wanted some Saracen ReLeve as I've had good results with it before but couldn't get hold of any. Didn't want conditioning nuts or similar so decided to give it a try.
I only have good things to say tbh, she looks a million dollars and is working really well. She's in fairly hard work (competing advanced medium dressage/working towards advanced) and I feed alongside grass nuts and oats. Her coat is fab and she's full of energy - at last!

They are molassed so some would find that a turn off, I think it must be very light as there's no stickiness etc but it's not a huge concern to me anyway in the quantities I'm feeding.

I feed RFM - the green bag one. It is mostly fibre (soya hulls) and a tiny bit of molasses bit not enough to worry about. I feed it 50/50 with unmollassed beet pulp, does mine well because I can add all the extras I need and they love it.
Some of their feeds have all sorts of added extras, such as herbs or garlic, and I avoid those, I'd rather have tailor made extras I can add in specific quantities.

I used to feed RFM (green bag!) for ages but swapped to pink mash, purely so i could get rid of the other gut supplements I was feeding! Readymash is great for puffing up and making a feed look huge even only using a small amount, i used to feed 250g between two feeds and it made loads - great for hiding supplements! As JillA says though, careful of some of them, they have a right random selection of ingredients!

Im feeding exactly what you're thinking OP - my veteran who drops weight every winter (and is slim all year round in general so he cant afford to lose much) Im feeding the Readymash Extra and Senior Support. I actually just bung the senior support in with the readymash and soak it all (SS doesnt need soaked), he loves it. Im yet to find a horse who doesnt like R&B feeds to be honest. My other two fatties are on their Forage type one but once the weather turns, they'll just get a small amount of Readymash Extra instead as its got more vits & mins etc.

Is that the RB Forage N Fibre you're using? Waiting on a sample, but is that just pure fibre, short chop or long chop??
