I brought a premier equine trio rug buster set with all liners etc last autumn was about £260 but thought was worth it. have had 2 clips break on tail strap and small tear on liners and inside main rug which horse has not done as it on inside. It now seems it has been rubbing her withers and it has got quite bad. speaking to my physio it seems this could be a reason for her bad behavior, her withers are quite bony and defined but she is not underweight just Tb withers with WB body. her withers now have white dust on them so have cleaned off and no hair left so put cream on and removed rug, she doesnt want it back on. the seam on the neck sits higher up her neck than her withers but some seem to say it could be weight of the rug or just that it rubs. she has prev had Weatherbeeta rugs and been fine.
I dont know if i need to look for fur wither pad on rug now or what rug to replace this with. not that impressed as the rug was expensive.
what does everyone else use? needs to be thick 1600den with removal neck and somethign she can keep on in stable.
