Rug help please

I have to replace the items recently stolen, mainly rugs.
(Anyone got a 17.5'' medium pessoa for sale?)
There has been a lot of posts recently about which are the best rugs. I had Jumpers Horseline rugs (250gms) but I am thinking of replacing them with Horseware.
The Horseware rugs I am looking at are:
Meduimweight (200gms) and Heavyweight (370gms).
I can't afford both for all of them at the moment.
Two wear 5ft 9 and two wear 6ft.
Three will be clipped as in regular work and brought in at night.
1 native (6ft) will hopefully be sold if we can fix him, but if not, he will live out.
Would you go for the 200gms or the 370gms?
I am thinking the 370gms but it sounds very heavy?

Clipped in winter, mine wears no less than 400g, with an under rug or two!!!

Depends how cold they get though - my filly is warm under a 200g even in the snow, but my mare would think I was killing her!

I would go for 200g. That's what my (clipped) mare wore all winter last year and she was quite happy in it. When we had a few weeks of snow, I stuck a lw stable rug on underneath

. you'll get less use from a 370g IMO.

You will need 200g first if that makes sense. You can then buy heavier ones later in the year when you should have more money.

Have a look at Premier Equine - their rugs fit well and are reasonably priced compared to Horsewear. I think that their time has come and gone.
