I am looking for a HW wug/half neck turnout with a high denier (1000d or higher ideally), with leg straps, silky feel lining (eg nylon) and in size 5ft9. Oh and not a Masta.

Am I asking too much? I'm beginning to consider getting an Amigo 1200d Wug and having the extra loops for the leg straps sewn on as I can't find anything.

I don't know of any. Derby House rugs all have the nylon linings and some of them are 1200 denier, but the high necks are 600 denier. Weatherbeeta do one up to 1680 denier but last time I bought one they had nylon part of the lining but the main bit over the back is a kind of wool feel lining.

The premier equine buster hardy! I think you said a half neck?! They usually come with leg straps and tail strap as standard and you take off whichever you don't need. 1600 odd denier!

I have the Shires Typhoon, fabulous rug.

My other one has the Weatherbeeta Aspen High (not been made for a while but you may be able to get one second hand).

The one in the Weatherbeeta also has the lightweight version of the Equitheme, I've only got the 600 denier version as the other was out of stock but it is also a good rug, no leaks no movement.

I love half neck rugs and it is a nightmare to find them, plus like you I need leg straps and 5'9. Really narrows down your options. Not tried the Masta, I avoided as I have a stable sheet made by them and it is the worst fitting thing out there, the horse would need to be deformed for it to fit. Tried the Wug too, couldn't get the straps done up so they must come up small.

Try amixo brand, I know they have 1800d and a friend recently got one and it's a great rug! Or I found a good website speedy equestrian.com, lots if choice and good prices, so you maybe in luck there!

the Rambo Wug comes in lots of weights i.e. 450 here, 200 and no fill on rideaway.

Why do you want leg straps? Cant stand them myself!
I usually use HW rugs, but I want to get her a new one with leg straps for when it's windy. I don't want to risk the rug blowing off - I've seen it happen - as they insist on staying at the top of the hill (and nowhere near the windbreak) even in really strong winds.

ETA - thanks for all the replies, I have lots of choice now. :)

I love the amigo XL for out big big boy and that is what we do, only a small amount of effort for an otherwise faultless rug!
