What horse do you have? Live in/out?

What rugs do you have?

The reason I ask is that I have a zillion rugs but have always got to buy more as nothing i ever need!

If you've any 5ft9 - 6ft let me know!

I have 4 rugs, 1 no fill light weight, 1 lightweight with i think a 50-70gram fill (so can swap them about in really wet weather)

I also have a medium weight at 180gram and a heavier one at 220gram.

I tend to "Layer" a lot...

ISH. Lives out, so no stable rugs.
Hes got a nice posh fleece which I won and I save to use for travel when we go anywhere nice.
Grew out of his turnout rug the year before last and I meant to buy him a new one for last winter but it was so mild I didnt bother rugging him so didnt buy one.

Haha "compulsive rug buying disorder" like that!

Safe to say I have that!

He no longer needs any rugs atm so no excuse to buy a nice new one at Hickstead....

this could take a while :o
my 3 come in at night. they each have:
- stable sheet
- lw stable
- lw turnout
- mw stable
- mw turnout
- hw stable
- hw turnout

I've also got:
- spare stable sheet for B and J
- sweat rug
- spare mw turnout for T

I have to sit on my hands when I see a bargain :p

:-\ i think i have compulsive rug buying disorder too.

My boys are out 24/7 in summer (ha ha summer, thats a joke!) & stabled at night during winter.

Off the top of my head Splash my cob has a 2 standard fleeces, a thermotex rug, a full neck fleece, a cotton sheet, a fly rug, one of those shire rugs which is part rain sheet part fly sheet, a standard rain sheet, a full neck rain sheet, a full neck medium weight turn out, a full neck heavy weight turn out & a stardard heavy weight, 2 full neck heavy weight stable rugs...he neeeeeds these things honest!

My mini has a heavy weight turn out, heavy weight stable rug and a rain sheet. i've just ordered him a fleece as he was shivering yesterday when i brought him in after getting drench...felt so guilty :-|

Mine each have:

fleece
rainsheet
100g fill t/o
200g fill t/o
300g fill t/o

so I have all those in 5'9, 6', 6'3, 6'6 and 6'9. They wear their t/o rugs in the stables. I also have a number of other rugs they have brought with them over the years including a few stable rugs but I find that I can manage most situations with the rugs I have.
I have realised that the little pony is a bit short of rugs though! I'm also steadily increasing the stock of thermatex-type rugs when I find them at good prices.

Hon has a fleece, l/w stable rug, l/w turnout and m/w turnout.

Mysti has umm .. 2 fleeces, 3 stable rugs (one m/w, one l/w with a neck and one h/w with a neck) a summer sheet, a l/w turnout and a m/w turnout with a neck :)

Mysti feels the cold but Honey doesn't really plus we layer them with hon :)

Two TBs over 100 rugs between them (but they have about 8 flyrugs each as they have sweetitch so have to wear these 24/7). New one is on the small side so he has had all of our "baby" rugs + 4 new ones and have only had him 2 wks. In total he must have about 20 rugs, but again has developed mild sweetitch so is wearing flyrugs 24/7. He is probably going to grow another 2 inches so should be able to share with his brothers and god knows they have enough spares.

They had more - sold about 50 rugs when I retired one of them and he lost all topline so they no longer fitted him.

I don't think I have a problem, I am just being practical; if the rugs are ripped/wet I always have an alternative!

mine is in at night/ out in the day during winter & the other way round in the 'summer', he's some sort of native pony thing ;)

he's got a fleece, a lightweigh turnout (no fill), 2 medium weights (200g ish) turnouts (no neck) and a 250g turnout with neck. he doesnt really need any of these apart from the fleece maybe, but he is grey & couldnt cope with him having no rug through winter because of the state he would get it!

<stands up> 'Hi my name's Peewee and I'm a rug-aholic' <sits down> :o

Collection for the boy not too bad, 2 turnouts, 1 stable one fleece (so far! We shaln't count the rugs that he's already destroyed & have been binned) ... but my shed is absolutely stuffed with his predecessors rugs which included 5 turnouts, 4 stable rugs, 2 fleeces, 4 summer sheets, 2 coolers, travel rug and probably more

I have loads in 6'9" from the three I lost.. They had everything, each.. The 5 I have now don't fit them and I can't bring myself to sell any yet..

Two young CBs, always unrugged, not sure how big they'll grow.. 2 native ponies, always unrugged.. 1 Dutch Wb mare.. Mostly unrugged but never more than a MWt when coldest and wettest depth of winter.. All are mostly always out..

Loads! I have a coloured pony , he's a bit of a coloured cob crossed with a welsh c , so more pony-ish. He's now out 24/7 but I do bring him in on nights if it's really wet, or during the day. Winter time he's in at night. He has-
- fly sheets x 3
-no fill x 2
-no fill combo
- 100gm
- 200gm x 3
- 300gm
- 300gm combos x 3
- 380gm combos x 2
- 300gm stable rug
- fleeces x 4
- snood

Some more on top of that that are waiting to get repaired!

If you've any 5ft9 - 6ft let me know!

I have 4 rugs, 1 no fill light weight, 1 lightweight with i think a 50-70gram fill (so can swap them about in really wet weather)

Have loads of 6'-6'3 if you're interested?

I have a shedload - probably in the region of 40 rugs... for 1 horse

In my defence up until recently I did have 2 :o

At a basic level I need
Lw, mw and hw turnouts
The same for stable rugs
2 of each in case the other is broken, wet, covered in poo so that's 12
Then fly rugs, travel rugs coolers and fleeces.

So a fairly basic wardrobe is at least 20 rugs.

Mine are out at night in summer and during day in winter. Aiming to cut down to two heavy turnouts each, one MW stable rug and an under rug each, a lightweight turnout, then they also have a stable sheet, a fleece/cooler type thing for at home and a smart one each!!
Then my old girl who is retired and lives out 24/7 has a medium weight and two heavyweight turnouts.
Have a fair number more than that at the moment so need to have a sort out and sell a few!!

Lives in, but gets daily turnout, has far too many rugs! I went online to look to see what was available and lost my senses!!

I have 3 or 4 turnout rugs
8 stable rugs (of different sorts, fleeces, quilts, sheets)
3 fly rugs

I've now started collecting numnahs and saddle cloths!

I've sold lots of rugs this year.

When I only had the two horses they each had 10 or more rugs. Both are now basically retired.

My 22 year old (5'3) she is out over night in the summer and during the day in the winter has
a rambo net cooler (worn once )
a fal cotton sheet (worn twice)
A weather beeta fleece
a thermatex (worn once)
a shires rain sheet
a rhino 200g turnout
a weatherbeeta 300g turnout
a fal 400g turnout
She wore her fleece and 3 of the turnouts this year so I think I need to sell some more rugs :D

My three boys all fit in a 6'3 they have the following between them (two are clipped and out at night year round and one is a semi retired cob who goes out overnight in the summer and during the day in the winter)
A weatherbeeta rain sheet
A Fal 40g turnout rug
a 40g weatherbeeta turnout
a 220g weatherbeeta turnout
a 220g masta combo turnout
a 220g fal turnout
a 350g weatherbeeta combo
a weatherbeeta mesh cooler
a coolmaster rug
two fleeces
a coolex rug
a fal 200g stable rug
a 360g weatherbeeta stable rug
Between them they wore 8 of the rugs last year.

Bailey lives out year round and she has a total of 1 180g shires turnout rug :D

ooh my boy has::

1 fleece, 1 cotton sheet, 1 fly rug, 1 HW stable, 1 thicker newmarket fleece, 1 MW turnout, 1 MW stable combo, 1 HW turnout, a JW show sheet. On the hunt for a new rainsheet and LW stable! (got his rainsheet wrecked in field!)

I have a 16.2 Friesian who lives out 24/7 summer and in at night during winter. He isn't rugged currently and during winter his turnouts will double as stable rugs
. He came with an amigo no fill t/o, amigo medium weight t/o and a medium weight stable rug.
I've bought another no fill and ill get another medium weight. Any other suggestions as I do like horsey accessory shopping :-)

we just took a small selection of winter rugs (only stable ones, not turnout or sheets or coolers etc) to be cleaned.......turned out we took 39! Washer lady was rather bemused by our 'few' rugs to wash.... She'll be even more bemused when we take the rest of the winter rugs....

My gelding had several versions of every type of rug under the sun !

Mare only has the "essentials" as she hasn't been here long and has already cost me a fortune on things she needs! Rug-wise she has:
- An amigo no-fill
- A Weatherbeeta no-fill lightweight combo
- A premier equine fly rug
- Weatherbeeta waffle weave cooler
- My boy's special fleecey rug for the cold nights.

Need to get her a stable rug and some warmer winter rugs but not until the winter!

There is just something about rugs....hell, I paused at the sale rug selection in my local Countrywide yesterday and I dont even HAVE a horse!

I thought i was bad having 20+ rugs between 4 horses!!!

Indoor Rugs-

Rambo Newmarket Fleece X2
Rambo Newmarket MW stable rug
Amigo MW stable rug
Rhino HW stable rug
JHL Stable rug
Rhinegold Under rugs X2

Turnout Rugs-

Rambo Amigo Fly Rug X3
Equitech Sweet itch Rug
Rhinegold Summer sheet
Rhinegold LW Turnout
Amigo LW turnout
Masta MW turnout X2
Amigo MW turnout
JHL HW turnout
Masta HW
Rhino HW turnout

I have the liberty that 2 of mine live out, one of which hates rugs all except his sweet itch rug and hes a hardy Shetland.

The only problem i have is that my youngster only seems to fit in the Horseware Amigo rugs. any other make/design he manages to destroy them, making them unsellable etc. One of them came in in 3 pieces and hes been through 4 rugs this winter, So i made the decision to get him the Rhino rug and it fits him perfectly. Only problem is he outgrows them so quickly, hes rising 2!

Im sure i have more, but this is all i can think of atm.

I have one horse..
2 x fleece
Summer sheet
2x LW stable
2x LW turnout
1 MW stable
2 MW turnout (one with neck)
1 x HW TO
1 x HW stable
200g under rug

Which I think is reasonable! However, don't ask me how many saddlepads I have ;)
