For the past two years Hemir hasn't been clipped, so he's just had a lightweight turnout rug on to keep him dry! I know I'm a mean mummy

But this year he is going to be clipped and come in overnight...he's going to be spoilt this winter...!! He can get cold, and over winter in can get to -5 overnight! Also, I just have a normal stable rug, which isn't very warm, should I get him a warmer one?

thanks everyone

If he is having a full clip, he will need to be rugged up pretty well - have at look at equestrian clearance, they've got some great bargains at the moment.

Ninga!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fancy seeing you here- are you going to be on msn?
Personally we don't bother to full clip, ours were all very fit, and never sweaty with blanket clips. Ours have MW's, so I should think for a full clip you will need some 'serious' rugs. Prehaps either get a fleece for under the stable rug, or most people seem to leave the same rug on in the day and night now.

Love ya, missed ya!

I would say that he will need a heavy weight rug. My TB has a full clip and when it is really cold and snowy he has a 400gram and a 200gram on at the same time, He is a bit of a wimp though!!

Try www.horseloverz.co.uk as they have some fab sales on at the moment, 50% off horseware rugs and discount off most other brands.
