Has anybody used them?
They are DEFINITELY not linked in any way to E&L (although both are based in Yorkshire i'll give you that!). I can't actually recall who they're underwritten by though as think they have changed insurance companies recently (don't quote me on that though). I worked for Towergate AIUA, both them and RIG (Rural) are based in Harrogate.
Did you get a quote direct with them or via a broker? I thought they just dealt with brokers but maybe things have changed.
Anyway, if the cover and premium suits you then there are no concerns about the company themselves. They deal mainly in farm insurance and the equine is a small part of the company. Like any company though, just make sure you are clear on the claims procedures as they can differ slightly from company to company and this is where people get tripped up (and then blame the insurer) when it's actually because they haven't read things!
