Hi all.

I am getting quite bored with my current job, and would love to do something I am passionate about (horses or chocolate - so choosing the former as would eat all the latter...)

I work in recruitment and although I would keep the business running thanks to some temps keeping the £ coming in, I really want to put my energy into something horsey that is profitable.

I have a yard, which doesn't have business use. I am an insured instructor, but having a baby doesn't make things easy travel wise.

Has anyone on here started a small/medium equine business, and if so, what does your business deal in? Or any ideas?!

Hubs just laughed his head off too - :D

Shades of Dapple Grey anyone ?

We own but no, Dad is very precious about his garden! Plus the neighbours would slaughter us if we had people coming in all the time. Have seen some really successful nameplate, browband and whip designing companies. Just wish I could find a nice little niche!

I know someone who has an Equine America Franchise. I'm sure many of them do them ?

On a different track , I also know someone with a Trophy pet foods franchise, and is doing really well.

Someone I know does confidence building workshops..she's a BHSI but also has other psychology type training. She can do 1:1's as well as small groups...seems bit more lucrative than std lessons & not so weather dependent.

Haha no way!! I was thinking of total un-needed things little girls could get their mothers and fathers to buy! I didn't realise it actually exists.

Alright, give me a second.

* False eyelashes for mares
* Clipping stencils that was I <3 Stallions. For mares or your prancier geldings.
* Horse bracelets, with bells, for that morris dancer look (;

Heated water troughs/drinkers/buckets would probably be very popular considering the winters we get.

They sell them in America but they've never made it over here.

Not sure if that's the type of thing you are looking to do or not.

That's a great idea! I have just had to walk 200m with buckets from the kitchen today.

And the chestnut looks like my Mum...quite scarily so.

my boys would (rightly) pack bags and leave home if I did their hair like that - love it very funny. Mine prefer the toilet brush look - Perhaps if I get my straightners out there I could get close to this !!!
