Not been around much (career change, lots of work!).... just had to post because yesterday I had to take my old lady lab Meg to the vets for the final time at the grand old age of 15. She lost a lot of weight over xmas but was still very lively so upped her food and carried on. On Friday she was suddenly very unsteady and weak, on saturday she developed a massive blood filled abscess on her ear which burst leaving lots of mess and smell. Took her to the vets and he agreed that the damage was too much for her and that PTS would be the kindest thing. So, I held her in my arms as she went to sleep, very tearful but my vet was a rock for me, such a kind man.... DH couldn't stay in the room but I am so glad I was there for her, I brought her into our lives 4 years ago as a weak and infection riddled bag of bones with no light in her eyes. She blossomed, and grew stronger and slotted right in as a family member, Boss' best friend, a waggy tail and a happy face every day she was the worlds most perfect dog, kind, affectionate, loyal and gentle beyond imgaination.
