Today I took my daughter, her friend and their ponies to the gallops to let off a bit of steam.
Daughters pony had a saddle fitted about 9 months ago and we were told to get it checked once it had bedded in- about 6 months. However after 6 months due to one thing or another he'd only been ridden a handful of times so I figured I'd leave it until he was in proper work.
So it is due a check and re flock I presume.
I recorded her galloping and noticed that there is a fair bit of movement in the saddle at speed, it's bouncing a bit on his back.
Friends pony turned out no where near fit enough and only trotted so I had nothing to compare it to.
Is a bit of movement expected?
Slightly worried as he is sensitive and I'm a bit poor right now!!! Don't kneed to be buying another saddle if I can help it.
Of course I will be getting the fitter back out anyway but like to be a bit more clued up as you hear so many horror stories.
