saddle pad under roller or not?

I use a normal wadding type numnah, fixed with the girth tabs top and bottom, with the seat part also folded under. If nothing else, it means I can wash it without knocking hell out of the washing machine by putting the whole roller in! I use a girth for the girth part, more contoured than the free one that comes with the roller.

I do think they make them more comfortable too, many of the 'padded' ones are not padded enough for wither clearance.

I have a polypad rollerpad for this reason. much easier to wash!

also if on a young horse it gets them used to a larger area of their back being covered - training towards readiness for a saddle.

so overall, a roller pad/poly pad, or nothing if it is a fleecy roller? unless your training a younger horse? because having a full saddle pad simulates a saddle. correct?
