I had exactly the same problem when I tried a polypad. I complained coz they're not meant to move! and they very nicely let me return it and they gave me a different type (not the traditional one but one with towelling under some of it and a thick bit on top but not lower down) but again it didnt work so I ended up swapping it yet again (they are nice!) for a Pod which is fine.

My favourite saddlecloth is a Bartyl half sheepskin lined one. Its got a big wool bit at the front so it never slips back, and seems to comfy. On my other horse, its just a thin cottage craft one because he's chunky so I have to use thin things on him!

i have a variety- a few cheapy thin ones that i use for schooling, a lovely mark todd one that sol wears, a joules one for red, a nice navy poly-pad type horseware one, a nuu-med half lined one and then a cottage craft one.
the best for solo is the nuu-med, he has a prolite pad underneath his saddle. the best for red is the horseware one- it doesnt move at all.

crikey, i've got so many i don't know where to start. nuumed hi-wither race ones for under jump saddles, polypads for hacking around at home (never had one move, but i use the 1.5 or 2 thicknesses so they squish down a bit under the saddle), Mattes and Nuumed for comps. Inch's and Kieffer white squares under dr saddle (Kieffer ones are lovely and solid and stay up off spine).
i've had to alter the attachments on almost every one to make them fix to my saddles exactly. bought a LOT of velcro from Debenhams and got some very very funny looks...

I've bought a cheapy Roma half sheepskin saddlecloth and it's doing surprisingly well. I use it every day for a good two hours. It washes and dries really quickly. I am loathe to buy an expensive saddlecloth again as I wore the last one out so quickly. I was finding the saddlecloth part wearing out much quicker than the wool if you see what I mean. On top of this saddlecloth she wears a prolite gelpad.

I have a sheepskin half pad and a cheap, but very good quality saddlecloth for everyday. I bought a couple of saddlecloths of ebay for £5 each. They wash really well and fit well.
For competing I use an albion saddlecloth aswell as the half pad. I have a few mattes squares with fluff which I love but unfortunatly cant use as I need a half pad.

I use a Mattes half lined sheepskin numnah with a prolite and will soon be getting a full sheepskin Nuumed. Been told to use this by my saddler while I build up my horse's wither muscles to get a better fit with his Bates saddle. Though it may mean a new saddle if this doesn't work

Rage has a nuumed every day hi-wither numnah which he wears with a riser pad. This is his only outfit at the mo as I have only just discovered the joys of the hi-wither cut!

Boo wears a thin cotton numnah or saddlecloth with a sheepskin half pad as she has a lumpy back

I have a mammoth collection of other saddlecloths... lots of quilted cotton ones and 6 or 7 polypads

On D, 2 Polypads (not that he's greedy or anything

) Why? because the physio advised it due to lack of muscle (due to the fact that he most of the time he eats, sleeps, poo's and occasionally has a play in the school or goes out for a hack, what a life, eh?)
Monty has a Polypad and a Prolite, our instructor advised we use them both as when I bought him he was very under muscled on one side, getting there now though

Bea has a Polypad under her jumping saddle (never moves) and an Eskadron thin dressage square with a nuumed half pad under her dressage saddle. All white and generally wash quite well.
Josh has an Eskadron saddle cloth under his saddle.
