Saddle seller had my negative feedback removed!

Ridiculous!

What's the point in allowing people to leave feedback if they're going to remove anything negative! Some people do leave unreasonable negative feedback (seen some where people have moaned about length of delivery time even though fell within expected time stated by seller) but surely would've been better for ebay to contact you first so you can verify you are justified in what you said!

I say name and shame the seller on here!

Don't worry. I will be if ebay do not reinstate my feedback. They removed it and then told me that the seller is disputing two of the things I said. One of them was that the stirrup bars were unsafe. They wer so loose against the saddle and pointing downwards that you had to ride with them in the locked position (ie hinge up in the closed position). Also the metal was sharp and rough which could eventually rub through the stirrup leathers.

The other thing she was arguing against was the refund taking a month. It did. But she blames paypal, when she didn't even try to put the refund through until she had had the saddle back three weeks.

Problem is, most folk (eg. Ebay) don't realise that a 'dangerous saddle' is in fact extremely dangerous. If it was a horsey person reviewing it I have no doubt the words would have stayed.
I'd keep pursuing it. How unprofessional of the seller to remove it. My first port of call would be to try and sort the issues out :(

Utterly disgusting.....

....as you say, if all negative feedback is removed, then its misleading for anyone else looking to buy.....they won't have all the facts.

(ps...my saddle arrived finally....its practically new, feel crap for moaning about the delivery time now :o)

Excellent! :)

I was offered £20 by an ebay seller to remove negative feedback. I didn't accept the bribe, my feedback was accurate.

I didn't get the option. I think this buyer knows someone in ebay. It would explain a few things. They would not even give a reason for the removal. All I said was 'Flocking hard and lumpy. Stirrup bars dangerous. Refund still not cleared 1 mth'.

I am livid.

So everyone, don't 'holdyourhorses'.

I wondered if it was them :)

The whinging then stroppy response from your seller sounded very familar.

If it's any consolation I bought from their website over 5 years ago and when there was a problem really had to push for a refund, luckily for me I had paid by credit card and the threat of a charge back did the trick.

My experience of this lady was that she really believed she was never ever wrong therefore all complaints were just 'silly' people trying to do her over. Great to have such belief in your products but...

I cannot start to describe how livid I feel. All the time I agonised as to why I was the only one who thought negatively about my experience. Now I know. I think she has a friend at ebay. They could not give me a reason for the removal of the feedback. The whole thing would be a joke if it wasn't for the fact that someone could get seriously hurt or even killed using these saddles.

Interesting. Thank you.

I absolutely hate injustice. Especially where people's safety is concerned, and also the comfort of the horses.

There must be something going on, though...

I've just read through the other thread, and looked them up on eBay - they currently have nothing listed for sale. Which sounds very odd if they had hundreds available a few weeks ago! (unless of course I'm looking at the wrong person )

Really hope you get it sorted somehow Wagtail. Hate to think what consequences selling saddles like those will have.

I think this might be quite common, I've seen some bargins with 100%b positive feedback sellers which when you read some of the comments which are positive feedback they say things like "avoid at all costs XYZ didn't arrive" or "posted wrong item and refused refund".
I could only assume at the time that positive feedback appears on the site and negative didn't hence hard done by buyers were giving their honest views under the heading of positive - so at least people could read the details.

Do you still have the option of leaving positive feedback - perhaps you could do this with the wording you used for negative ??

No, ebay will not allow me to leave any feedback at all now. I guess they make a lot of money out of these sellers.

Shocking. Not surprised you are livid. What on earth is the point of Ebay having feedback if they allow it to mislead consumers ?

Would Trading Standards be any use ?

Ah, thank you Shy. Minus the word 'equestrian' it found someone else!

Yes, it is hold-your-horses-equestrian

Ebay would not disclose why my feedback was removed. I think they have a friend in ebay as they were very cloak and dagger about it. Would not say what rule the feedback broke.

Wow they have sold a lot, either you were really unlucky and got the duff one or there are lots of people riding round on terrible saddles !!

No. I should have looked more closely at the photographs. You can see very clearly how awful the stirrup bars are. You can even see the lumps in the flocking!

I'm livid for you wagtail, what is the point in being able to leave honest feedback if they can just get it removed?!? Disgraceful!

I have more than a 1000 feedback and this is the first time I have left negative. I have left a couple of neutrals but no negs. But I felt a duty to be truthful and leave the feedback I did. So I am not someone who does it lightly, as it is people's livelihoods we are talking about here. I did wonder why when I left the feedback, the seller did not try to dispute it. Obviously, they knew full well that they could get it removed at the drop of a hat.
