I am starting to think about what saddle I am going to want/need when Fia comes back in next spring as a 4yo.
The dilemma is that she is VERY compact and I am not
I have a fairly minimal arse but am very long from hip to knee, which is where the problem lies
This is her in a 16" pony gp, when I first had her.
I then bought her a 16.5" Saddle Company WH saddle to get her started in..
In that last pic you can really see how much of a squish I am having. The lower leg is more defensive than it would be otherwise, seeing as that was our first outing into the big wide world
And her ladyship more recently...
She seems to have a deceptively forward girth groove as well.
Next year I am hoping to start of with the obligatory road work to strengthen her up, and then to eventually progress onto BE 4yo (Intro standard) classes by July. I need a jump saddle really to help accommodate my thigh (also I don't mind flatworking in a jump) but I'm not sue she has the shoulder to cope with something as forward cut as I want?
I thought if I had an idea of what would/wouldn't suit then I could keep half an eye open over the winter to avoid panic buying in the spring!
Help/advice/suggestions all welcomed with open arms!
