Has anyone sold a saddle to saddles direct?

Did you get a fair price for the saddle?

I have a saddle i need to sell and was considering them as an option.
Its a Lemetex jumping saddle and in brilliant condition, but i dont know how they will value it.

Thanks

I sold a saddle to them a couple of years ago. I'm really not sure what the saddle was worth (just wanted it gone) so unsure of if the deal was OK. The saddle was made by a company I had never heared of (can't remember what it was- sorry), wasn't very old at all and just didn't fit my horse. I got £250 for it. I emailed them a photo and they sent me a valuation from that. I dropped the saddle off at SD as I don't live too far away so no postage costs. They checked it over and sent a cheque in about a week.

Overall very positive experience but as I say not sure about the price I got- seemed on the low side?

Didn't sell to them but I asked them to value my ideal jumping saddle that I was selling. They wouldn't have given me much for it themselves but gave me a reasonable valuation for private sales - I put it on their site as well as some others but sold locally in the end (achieved their private sales valuation and I was happy with that - £550 for a 3 year old saddle).

I'd ask what they would give you for it and what you could expect privately. If you aren't in a massive rush you can then advertise it yourself if you prefer.

I was wondering this myself but hadnt got time to post, yesterday i sent an email but ive not heard anything back yet regarding an offered price.

I part-exed a saddle with them.

What I liked about it was she gave me a price she'd buy it at/take for part ex before I chose a replacement saddle. I ended up doing a straight swap, after taking 5 to try, the oldest, cheapest (and according to the fitter, the best made) was the same price she'd agreed.

The saddle I chopped in was on her site for just over £100 more than she gave me for it it. Wasn't bothered, appreciate she's got to make a profit on it.

HAHA Saddles Direct emailed me to say they would sell my saddle for a good price!

Then i read they would take £220 in commission for it????????????
Maybe not then!
They justify this by saying its to cover their advertising costs??
