I have decided, although very reluctantly, to sell my young horse. I did put him up for sale about a month or so ago and he sold quite quickly but the buyer backed out (by that time I had lost all the phone numbers of everyone else who had called). I am pregnant, have a very busy full-time job, I'm tired, have another horse and too much to do generally and am not sure I can face the hassle of trying again to sell him - I found that so many people just don't turn up or bother to call back.
I was thinking of putting him in sales livery to get him sold but am worried about where he might end up as I won't have full control over who he is sold to. Has anyone done this and how did they find the experience? He's a lovely little horse without vices - I'm not just sending him to a dealer to get rid of him, and I do care a great deal that he finds a nice home. I am just struggling with finding the time and energy to do it myself.
I'd be really grateful to hear about any experiences you have, good or bad. And if anyone knows a reputable yard not too far away that would sell him for me please pm...
