Fingers crossed she keeps improving, mine ate a big bar of galaxy that was posted through the door as part of a welcome pack from new employer, no ill effects whatsoever from that but the half kilo of raisins had him spend all day and all night at the vets, thankfully he pulled through fine.

I really hope Tank is over the worst now. It is just awful knowing your dog has been so poorly but if she has shown signs of improvement, have faith in her resilience and that we are all hoping for a good recovery. Horrible for you!! Thinking of Tank this evening.

Wow, what a greedy little Tank! It sounds like she's improving. I don't envy the person who will be giving the charcoal. Corgi and dachshund legs were my specialty when it came to IV catheters.

I'll continue to keep all digits crossed.

Hope that this morning gives improving news.

My horror story was the greyhound who chewed and overdosed on my new asthma inhaler. We did not expect him to survive but somehow he did with no long term ill effects.

It looked rather bleak at several points but clearly these vets do not understand the resolve and stubbornness of a corgi.

They called this morning to say she could come home as long as rest, small meals, and close eye kept on her - mainly as she was being a demon for the out of hours vets and not playing ball. overnight obs were better than previous day at our usual vets, bloods were ok, and she’d ate a small meal.

She’s very quiet, feeling rather sorry for herself, and not quite right - will have to go back for a MOT on her ticker too, but she’s home (almost) in one piece. looks ridiculous with chicken drumstick front legs, and I wasn’t best pleased with the out of hours vets and their lack of listening about handling her - she appeared with blood everywhere/still bleeding from where they removed the cannula (and struggled as she dislikes her feet touched) and due to this, they hadn’t tried to dress it. Not the best.

Excellent news!
We once had a Lab who was at the vets for an op. They rang and asked us to fetch her, 'as she is rather noisy'. We could hear her howling in the background!
I would speak to your usual vet about the OOH provision.

Oh excellent news!! She is one tough Tank but deserves a bit of tlc now. I love that she is a bit wicked - that incredible spirit helps at desperate times. Bravo Tank. Get well soon.

After all my years as an LVT I've seen plenty of corgis who don't want their feet touched. Sometimes we would put a hard e-collar on them to prevent us from being bitten, that are a muzzle. As soon as we had finished dealing with their feet the anti-biting device was rmoved.

I'm glad the Tank is home and came through this so far. Wh

Only just seen this. Poor you and the tank.

Glad she is a bit better. I suspect she’s learnt to levitate Easter eggs into her mouth……

She is still not quite right and very quiet for her, but her appetite is back so I know she’s getting back to normal. She is also bossing the others around so that’s promising. One bonus is I don’t think I’ll ever be able to eat chocolate again after what she produced (mostly all over me rather than the pee pads stationed around the consulting room) after the sickness jab!

Oh poor Tank :( But it sounds promising that she is making progress. What an absolutely horrible experience for all of you. I hope your wicked corgi is back to normal soon and that she doesn't frighten you like that again!!

And by business as usual I of course mean ruling the house with an iron fist. I knew she was better when she tried to eat me for changing her bandage. Normal service has resumed and I am back to being at a lifelong war of the wills. Of course, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
